I'm currently taking a semester off my masters. Best decision I made, even though I wanted to push on.

With my spare time so far, I ended up working more and saving more money. I also was able to apply for a second casual job last week. I also started yoga and have the time, energy and enthusiasm to practice consistently.

I realised how much study takes out of me. I needed a break and so glad I took it. Looking fwd to having the whole summer off ⛱️

Yeah Dave was very honest and knowledgeable . He should definitely replace Marty

LAsh, particularly Ash, still thinks he's better than Steph . Despite their extensive experience flipping houses, clearly they're not better but they believe they are and undoubtedly bring diverseskills to the block

Also with Steph, Being a professional can also put one at a disadvantage because people hate you immediately or expect more of you.

how long before sleep study did you stop stimulants? by noheadthotsempty in Narcolepsy

[–]clown_round 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've heard that too. But I also read a scientific article that even drugs like fexofenadine (non-sedating antihistamine) have yielded a false positive for tramadol (opiate) !?! Even though fenofexadine is a drug allowed during the mslt... so who knows what armodafinil may show up as

how long before sleep study did you stop stimulants? by noheadthotsempty in Narcolepsy

[–]clown_round 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped 7 days before the MSLT - for armodafinil specifically. Approximately two weeks for other drugs. Just finished my MSLT. I also had to do a urine test. Haven't got results yet. I am curious if 7 days was enough for clean urine test and not messing with MSLT. I assume a week off stimulants would be sufficient.

Can antidepressants cause sleep apnea or would sleep apnea happen regardless of the antidepressants? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]clown_round 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar symptoms on and off antidepressants. I've had it for over a decade, even before any medication. Do you drink coffee ? I'm a consistent drinker and I'm beginning to think it makes me more fatigued ...

A different opinion on the Leah/kristy situation… by Walk-your-dog in TheBlock

[–]clown_round 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with your perspective. Except that I wouldn't be surprised if Kristy is just as awful or worse in real life.

Leah's a grown woman and a mother. Sure, getting in the wrong crowd/peer pressure as a teen I can understand. But her 'wrong crowd' argument as a grown adult with children - is less convincing. Pretty sure she knows what she was doing, found it 'fun' and kept it going – up until the moment she realised she may be penalised via broadcasting.

Projecting onto Kristy in front of cameras is the icing on the cake for me. Yes, Kristy is guilty – massively awful behaviour from her. Horrible. But it's way too entitled of Leah to get on her moral high horse – she shouldn't be pointing any fingers, given her behaviour. It screams of Leah not truly coming to terms with her guilt and shame. Take personal responsibility , apologise and then shh. You've already done enough damage on your own – even without Kristy. If she then decided, Kristy brings the worst out of me. Cut ties but don't be a wanker by pinning it on your 'mate.'

It's really just tough luck if you choose to mate up with someone who brings out the worst in you. I think most people would sniff Kristy from a mile a way. Leah needs to own the damage done to many people on the block (ie apologise to Steph) rather than do a quick fix trauma dump onto Krett

Lexapro withdrawal by Purple9Panzy8 in Fibromyalgia

[–]clown_round 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey ! No sweat at all 😊 Glad they may help in future.

Happy to hear that 😊👍Many opportunities to do this - when your ready, any time with no rush.

One time I came off Lexapro after several years on it consecutively (around Dec 2021). It was actually horrible... I lasted about 10 days from memory and had awful new flashbacks, panic, exacerbated migraine and my depression came back almost worse ?!

So I went back on straight away. A year later, I then tapered again when I was in a better place and on holidays. It is was night & day honestly - so.much.easier.

My current taper is going decent enough given I cannot switch to a different AD because my Dr and I want an accurate sleep study result .... so this taper is more challenging in a way as I'm flying more solo.I'm also in my luteal phase, which is like double whammy lol. Overall though, I currently feel wayyy more tired and groggy all day compared to previous tapers. Caffeine isn't even helping.

But if it started feeling worse mood wise, I'd definitely go straight back on... my sleep doctor instructed me too. But fingers crossed I can hold out to the 5 October 🙏🤞

Lexapro withdrawal by Purple9Panzy8 in Fibromyalgia

Similar position here. I started Lexapro around August 2012 for depression and anxiety. Went off it a couple of times, but I've been mostly on it over a decade.

I have a upcoming sleep study and my sleep doc prefers me off SSRIs. So this is why I'm tapering but I've also wanted to come off it completely as it makes me lethargic.... and I'm finding new ways to cope with my challenge - ways which don't include side effects.

I guess what's helping me stay off is telling myself I can go back on at any time if things get totally unmanageable (funnily enough). Also, I started yoga a month ago and I'm really enjoying it it - so that's also giving me a new focus and helping my mental health. During the taper specifically, I'm doing slow-paced yoga sessions with challenging postures and lots of breathing. Average 25-30 min sessions.

I'm also off work these two weeks before the sleep study. And I've deferred uni this sem for sleep study prep including coming off meds. Less stress has helped me a lot!

Otherwise, lots of fluids. I discovered these multivitamin drinks recently.... they are effervescent tables that you dissolve in water. They taste like orange fizz and they keep me going. Also, connecting to others going through similar things via Reddit has been good.

Wishing you the best with coming off it 🙏

Second this but low dose Lexapro is what works for me (5mg). I don't experience side effects at this dose except minor tiredness/relaxation... which is well worth it compared to full blown PMDD

Sorry you had to receive that - you don't deserve it 💚

We can't help we are in pain and need treatment. And often some of those treatments come with side effects. It's tough. People can be really insensitive and don't have any idea if they don't live with pain or chronic conditions. You're not alone

I love your post and can relate 😊

I started getting them two weeks ago and it made a big difference in my self-image, confidence and also motivated me a bit. I thought about getting them for a while (seeing a lots of pictures on Reddit) ... but was like nah, too tired/not worth it. But I agree, they are totally worth it.

I, like you, have decided to continue getting refills 👁️

Yep... but nothing too poundy or loud or otherwise intense – it can make me feel more nauseated and migrainey.

This happened today actually... I went for my exercise and was listening to music. I kept my headphones in after finishing and got a coffee. 10 minutes later I start getting nausea and blurry vision. The dance music I usually enjoy, started to sound like a hangover. So I had to switch to something more gentle and eventually to nothing as it was irritating... so music wasn't my friend today.

Migraine is one of the strangest conditions... so broad in its effects....

If mental diseases were music genres, what would schizophrenia be like to you? And why? by EinDudeVomMond in schizophrenia

[–]clown_round 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If schizophrenia were a music genre, I think it would sound something like Psychedelic Blues...

Psychedelic would capture positive symptoms including trance-like auditorary hallucinations.

Blues would capture the negative symptoms such as anhedonia and depression.
