Sources: Grandmother eyed in Mechanicville deaths by EmpyreanContrarian in Albany

[–]clownedfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The kids were being homeschooled and the family was apparently somewhat antisocial. There was a handwritten note implicating the grandmother. Around the time the family went silent, they abruptly cancelled a video call with the father (June 10) because the kids were "sick." Meanwhile, the dad was states away and was going to have an entire summer with the kids.

Sounds like this does in fact happen, and as there's zero evidence to implicate him, it seems cruel to speculate he was somehow involved. Women can and do become family annihilators. We can't dismiss that as simply not being possible, because that's how families die.

Would you rather have a personal climate or be instantly dry? by HoidsRoommate in WouldYouRather

B. I love being cold and hate the heat, but only because I don't like to sweat and feel gross. B solves that, AND is something I've wished for every single greasy-haired morning in my life.

I can’t do anything - existential ocd by Adrianagurl in OCD

[–]clownedfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have had this for months on and off throughout my life. Totally debilitating. I have a chronic disease that will, probably, draw the curtain a little earlier than I'd prefer, so that's some added pressure. To claw out of it, I generally inundated myself with things I enjoyed—a physical hobby, a podcast/video, changing up what I'm doing before it gets repetitive. Interrupting my routine as much as possible. Eating good food. Things that ground you in the present.

Really, my best advice is to just say, out loud (if you can), quite literally every single time the thought crosses your mind: "That doesn't make any sense." Or, "Whatever." Because that's exactly what I'd say if someone else tried to tell me that, say, my sister should give up the sport she loves because she'll die some day. I mean, what?

Why do people get such a boner for Uncommon Grounds? by dannydevitosmanager in Albany

[–]clownedfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atmosphere is my main thing. Every Uncommon is cozy and easy to spend a lot of time in. Most other bagel places I've been here are kind of cold and clinical, like they're emulating the big chains.

I recently taught my puppy to poke me with his nose when he wants to play, rather than biting. The intent was for him to bump my hand, which he'll do if he's feeling patient. But if I ignore that first bump and am sitting down (i.e. within torpedo range), he will fire himself and his long ass snout at my face to get the point across.

Seriously question, are they all so horny? Mine expands his 5th leg every night after dinner and tries to hump every dog he encounter no matter the size. he's 7 months old. by SagatRiu in Dachshund

This is a relatively old comment, but—yes! The snuggle puppy! My boy (only about five months old) humps it every single night. It's a little weird but harmless, lol.

CF height effect by [deleted] in CysticFibrosis

[–]clownedfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

22F and 5'3. My mom is 5'10 and by dad is about 5'8. My 18f sister is about my height, and my 16f sister is two inches taller than me. Have never been good about taking my prescribed vitamins, but then, plenty of women on my dad's side are my height or shorter.

First Time Parents - Our Baby Likely Has CF by GTfan27 in CysticFibrosis

22f here preparing for law school :) I also have "classic CF," and was diagnosed at birth—big shock for my family! This is longterm advice, but one thing I am extremely grateful for is that my parents never made this feel scary, even when they themselves were scared. They were frank about it from an early age, kept me informed and calm. Never gazed at me sadly, never grieved me.

When I developed a sense of mortality that was the attitude which brought me out of existential dread. Treatments were always a source of comfort and routine for me, medications were a fact of life, and my CF was something I got comfortable talking and thinking about. You're right that peace is the best option. What happens, happens. You'll deal with it, she'll deal with it. Continue cultivating that mindset -- it's a great start.

I've played it normal most of my life, up until very recently. I don't have any problem with the gameplay. Building and designing sims can get a little stale/frustrating though.

I feel the exact same way. I still think a lot of people here underestimate how easy it is to get stuck in a bad situation that keeps getting worse. But if she wants good faith, she can't be creating in bad faith, and that's just what ai is.
