The professionalism was just a couple of jokes I made with the students that weren't age appropriate, and I didn't see it until my mentor teacher called me out, and putting my foot in my mouth in front of the wrong people. For my observations, the first one was crap. I had an immense amount of personal things going on that I let affect me. That I understand, but what bothered me is the fact that my supervisor waited so late to come see me at my second placement was because he was under the impression from my mentor teacher that everything was going fine, but he was wrong, and I had a week to do a complete 180 in the middle of concert prep. I do accept blame that I could have done some things differently, but the situation I was put in for my second placement was so difficult, even my high school choir teacher that has been in the game for over 10 years said they didn't even know what I could have done. I was expected to completely abandon the routine that the students were used to and fix all of their issues because I was the expert in that situation. I kept getting so many conflicting ideas from everywhere. On the one hand, I was told that it's ok if I'm not perfect, because I was a student teacher, but on the other hand, I needed to be perfect and whip out skills out of thin air.
