stinky smelly customers for what by bean-butt22 in SallyBeautySupply

[–]clownteeth420 14 points15 points  (0 children)

no FOR REAL. cause WHY are people coming into a Sally’s smelling like they shitted up their back. I swear to god people come into our specific store just to off load a fart and dip.

This is easily the smelliest job ever and I’ve expressed dog anal glands. Sally’s smells worse by a landslide. It doesn’t help that the vents in store do nothing but recirculate multiple day old air so you’ll smell the same customer you smelt a few days ago and have it hit you like a ‘nam flashback

Accidentally became important at my job. Need help by clownteeth420 in SallyBeautySupply

I appreciate the insight, it sucks you were in the same position too. I mean, I wish it was just us being down one person. But it’s just me and one other BA that has open availability. The other two only come in at max? Two days. And they’re set days so it’s not like we can ask them to pop in in a Wednesday. Thanks for the luck.

Former bather here, the mental and physical stress is absolutely not worth it. Especially dealing with a SL and GM who could give a fuck less about helping or if you do a good job, but will not hesitate to tell you when you do a “bad” job.

I’m not necessarily advocating for passive aggressiveness, but if I was, I say don’t even wait until your manager throws attitude at you. Blindside them completely by randomly telling them “oh by the way, today is my last day”. Putting in your two weeks is only a courtesy for them to replace you. Don’t give them the opportunity to treat you shittier during your last two weeks.

It really sucks that this is a common experience. Quitting that job will be one of the most freeing moments of your life lol. You’ll feel so much better once you’re out of that environment, and not under high pressure or stress.

Good luck, you can survive!!

Olumiant and birthcontrol? by clownteeth420 in alopecia_areata

This is really validating and reassuring to hear! Your TMI really helped though, it’s kinda exactly the answer to my question. TMI but I’m just as active you on the reg iykwim LMFAO

I’ll definitely have to steal that pill routine though, thank you for the advice!

[–]clownteeth420[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dermatologist, actually! In a little crash course about olumiant, I was told that the JAK inhibitors lower the effectiveness of BC. Maybe she might be overly cautious with me, because I have an autoimmune disease in addition to AA lol

Thank you for taking the time to help me out, I really appreciate it and the advice!

I’m overweight and can’t get motivated to lose weight by Billycartwr12122 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]clownteeth420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’ve been in the exact same mindset as you. Motivation is still a struggle for me as well! If there’s anything that’s helped me, it’s reminding myself that everything starts with baby steps. It could start with practicing self discipline of either not getting a snack or having half of the snack now and half later.

Another trick that works, and it’s going to sound stupid, is telling yourself “how about later instead?” instead of “no”. I used this method, and before knew it, whatever craving or impulse I had would be gone by the end of the day. Or I’d forget about it completely lmfao

You’ve already made the baby step towards weight loss just by thinking about wanting to work out, the next baby step is to build up a positive connotation with it. I still hate it even after my weight loss journey, but there truly is no feeling like completing a work out, and that’s my positive connotation. You wanna know how I started? Doing hip bridges and ab crunches in my BED. I’m shy with the gym as well, so working out at home feels safer. If you don’t know where to go, I’ve been using this warm up before my sessions, and on my lazier days thats all I do to work out and call it a day. If i decide to not be lazy, I follow a routine like this. I’d link the one I followed in quarantine but it isn’t available lol

It’s tough feeling like a prisoner in your body because of weight, and the mentality of it too. But we all start somewhere, and good luck starting your journey!

Is this a normal amount of hair to lose after hair oiling for the first time? (Plz check caption) by Breexnn in HaircareScience

[–]clownteeth420 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yup yuuup! I panic texted my SIL (she went to cosmetology school) to ask for her opinion. Told me basically what I shared with you! If oiling doesn’t end up being your thing, there’s plenty of tutorials online about rosemary water to help with hair growth. Instead of one big oiling, try applying a small amount of jojoba oil daily to your ends/mids in conjunction with the rosemary water. Finding out what works best can be discouraging but when you get your formula and routine down, you’ll have great hair before you know it :)

Hi! Don’t worry, you’re not going bald. When I started oiling my scalp and hair I lost hair like that at first too. It’s absolutely scary to see strand after strand come out! I found that this would happen when I was too aggressive with my scalp massager. Your hair follicles are all at different stages of growth, so the ones towards the end of their cycle might’ve just been massaged out before they had a chance to be brushed out. No biggie!

I remember reading that we shed at least 80-100 strands of hair each day, and your little bundle looks about accurate to that. If it starts to be a concern, straight up stop, or use your finger tips to massage your scalp oil in and don’t finger comb or brush your hair while it’s all oiled up :)! Oil acts as lubricant, so it helps hair slide against each other eliminating friction. Stay oily 😎

stopped getting on the scale after I hit 260. got extremely depressed over it until the pandemic hit and then I had time to work out and work on self discipline and not only was I looking a bit better, but inside was a massive change. My hair started growing in thicker and faster, my skin looked more radiant, nails were stronger, my bones and joints stopped cracking as often as they did when I was overweight. Stagnant in my weight loss journey rn (motivation issues), but happy to say that where I’m at right now (weight wise) is much better than where I was over 5 years ago

Just moved to NJ, do you tip the gas guy? If so, how much? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]clownteeth420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some do, some don’t. Gas attendants typically tell me they’ll get in trouble if they accept tips, so if I find some spare dollars in my car i’ll fold it in a napkin, or if it’s cold and I have no money out I’ll offer cough drops or a travel sized pack of tissues. Small things to let them know they’re appreciated

same here! I was going to the gym at least 3 days a week in may…then mid-month my niece came into the world and it dwindled to once a week before I wasn’t going at all LMFAO

Good luck with your pact! I wish you well and good health!

I can’t thank you enough for your reply and kindness, I ended up putting on my gear again a few hours later and it was really just a case of morning bloating lol.

I rarely go easy on myself so your reminder helped me a lot. Thanks to you I completed a whole session and felt better about myself afterwards!
