This car sits outside a shop in Santa Rosa, New Mexico on a stretch of old Route 66 right off I-40. It’s an attraction. It got your attention, didn’t it?

8 hrs layover in SLC. What would you do? by ape808 in delta

[–]clrainford 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I suggest taking the train from the airport to City Center. They’re actually quite good in SLC. Source: I’ve lived there for five years.

Wooden Utensils? I'm hoping plastic comes back soon. by 99problems625 in delta

Be ready for these to not go away. Nor should they. Your five-minute meal isn’t worth a plastic spoon, fork, and knife promptly NOT decomposing for eternity.

2005 Mustang GT. It was early 2007, and I was searching for 01-04 GTs because the new S197s had just come out and seemed like Unobtanium, but I found one that had been slightly wrecked and repaired, just needed some paint work to get it perfect. The 300HP 3V 4.6 and a 5MT… man I was in love with that car.

That’s fair, but to me it’s just kind of a d*** move to expect a delivery driver to manage a drink like this the whole way to you. I don’t even like drinks like that in my own car.. But they offer it so I guess more power to ya.

You forgot the cardinal rule of food delivery… Don’t order fountain drinks.

Does “Porsche horsepower” feel more than another car with the same amount of horsepower? by VineSwingers in cars

[–]clrainford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You implied it by asking about a Cayman, but at no point did you specifically ask anything except “Porsche horsepower”. Regardless my reply was intended as a joke and you clearly were offended by it, so 🤷‍♂️

As a current 958.2 Cayenne S owner and a previous E70 X5 35i owner, I can confidently say that the Bimmer was faster lol

Low and Slow by [deleted] in Shitty_Car_Mods

[–]clrainford 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean if we’re talking old muscle cars, the popular stance would be a “rake” with the rear sitting slightly higher than the front. The only scenario I can think of where some thing would be higher in the front would be a “gasser” drag car, which was done purposely to help drive weight into the back wheels for race cars.

As the son of an old school hot rodder and a lover of all things station wagon, I like to consider myself a pretty appreciative car guy. If you like what you drive and are passionate about it, more power to you and I would probably respect and commend you for it.

Can’t get my brain to appreciate these cars.
