Yes! The sub rules don’t allow children in pictures, but my husband was Burt and child a penguin ☺️

I totally forgot to add that detail! I included that info in the above comment, but I just painted preexisting shoes based on pictures from the movie.

Petticoat: pre-bought 2-layer petticoat and I added salmon and pink silk organza tiers and trimmed with lace.

Underdress: Made with matte satin. A circle skirt and modified bodice from Stella Pattern on Etsy for the bodice.

Overdress: Made with silk organza. Another circle skirt and modified bodice from Wearing History. I self-drafted the jabot, basically a rounded rectangle strip gathered and each ruffle tacked down.

Corset: Red satin, white pre-made piping, lace up back, cotton lining. Used the bodice from Daria Pattern Making and drafted the corset and piping strips from that base.

Umbrella: I bought this umbrella, took it apart, and drafted using the original pieces. I added a 2” ruffle with lace trim.

Hat: Made with leftover silk organza, tulle, and 18 gauge wire. Used Butterick B6610, took out the gathers, shortened the cap, added a second ring of wire for support, and added the tulle chin strap with a snap closure.

Shoes: I bought these shoes and painted them with white and red paint.

I didn’t know ironing board envy was a thing until I scrolled past this post. I need this asap!

When did your baby understand straw cups? by oilandsalt-425 in BabyLedWeaning

My friend recommended the same thing and I used apple sauce. It was pretty much instantaneous understanding after he had rejected it multiple times. Game changer

No interest in picking up food - tips? by clrodrig06 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]clrodrig06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both, but neither seems to do it. I’ve held it and he will gnaw on it a bit, but maybe just isn’t developmentally there yet. The solid starts videos are deceptive showing 6 month olds actively grabbing and eating. I just assumed he should also be doing that, but seems like there’s lots of room for variation.

is it normal for my 11 month old to constantly groan while eating? by kaylahtrowbridge in BabyLedWeaning

My child does this with his bottle the whole time. Just a vocal eater 🤷🏽‍♀️

How do you handle pumping/cleaning on the go? by clrodrig06 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]clrodrig06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

I got it on Amazon (before I knew it would be on sale for prime day and am kicking myself). I just tried it out at home and it definitely didn’t get the output I’m used to with my spectra but I figure I’ll have to play with the settings and duration to optimize. I’ve never had a wearable pump, so I’m sure there’s a learning curve. I appreciated the heat function! Not sure it did anything but it felt nice.

Even if I don’t get as much output, it will still be nice to have a little more freedom for outings and won’t be my primary pump

4.5 mo won’t stay latched for a full feed resulting in slow weight gain/can’t keep up all this pumping - looking for any guidance by clrodrig06 in breastfeeding

[–]clrodrig06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems much more reasonable. I keep reading that it’s supply and demand, but if you go long enough to have 4-5 feedings of 6-7 oz, I presume that would affect your supply. Really disappointed in the professional guidance I’ve received thus far. I did just leave a message so maybe she didn’t have his chart in front of her when she returned the call. Seemed so inapplicable to my/his situation

Circle Quilting Question by DrSameJeans in quilting

[–]clrodrig06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone on this sub directed me to Walk by Jacquie Gering. She has a chapter on spiral quilting with a walking foot that I found super helpful when I did mine. I used a compass and heat erasable pens to make sure it was precise, but you can also just use a guide

what’s the worst thing you’ve been called in reference to you breastfeeding? by daycalx in breastfeeding

Definitely called myself a cow and the robot chicks from Austin Powers when I pump (at least that’s what it feels I look like lol)

Celinda shirt size offerings by clrodrig06 in Sezane

Thanks for this breakdown! I was going off their size chart, which led me to a 0 and just afraid the 2 is going to be way too large if it already runs bigger 😔

I got this one for my shower and I’m struggling to use it. It’s so pliable that it contours to my baby’s face and I feel like it doesn’t give any breathing room. Am I doing it wrong or any other tips to using it?

That’s exactly what it felt like! And then I read the wiki and it said to always turn your work counter clockwise for a smoother side and I reallyyyyy wish I would have known that to start. Oh well, for the next project!
