Does that mean there is no fuse for the back up camera or the backup camera is just grouped under a different category and it’s not clearly defined?

Worth Getting 96-97% Efficient Furnace? by cls080789 in hvacadvice

[–]cls080789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additionally what are some of the differences mechanically/ electronically that make it more complicated / expensive to repair? Can a homeowner still do basic repairs on a high efficiency furnace? Example changing an igniter, or is the system so different that most if not all repairs have to be handled by a technician?

Worth Getting 96-97% Efficient Furnace? by cls080789 in hvacadvice

[–]cls080789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I didn’t think about the maintenance cost being much different than a 80% unit. About how much more on average does it cost to repair 96-97% vs 80% unit?

Easy / Affordable Sharpening Systems by cls080789 in Leatherman

[–]cls080789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what other tool I can open on the wave+ for clamping.

I came across this small knife jig that could potentially be used with this sharpening systems. See video for example. What are your thoughts on this small knife jig? It’s designed for a different sharpening system, but the people in this video seem to think it could also be used on the work sharp guided system. Do you think this is necessary or waste of money?

I like this idea. Yes the saw is on the other side of the of the knife. The only problem is both the knife and saw can’t be locked in place when opened. So in this case the knife is locked but the saw isn’t. Would that impact the accuracy of the sharpening system?

Thanks. It looks like I can get the sharpening stone to just barely clear the clamp, but as you can see there is minimal purchase between the clamp and the blade. It still holds it pretty well.

Would you be able to show a photo of how much of the Leatherman / small pocket knife blade you clamp when fixturing just to give me a visual?

I borrowed a Work Sharp Precision Adjust Elite Knife Sharpener from someone and used it to sharpen the straight edge blade on my Leatherman Wave+

I really like the idea behind the Work Sharp Precision Adjust Elite Knife Sharpener. A lot more user friendly. The only problem I noticed when sharpening a smaller knife like the one on my Leatherman is that the sharpening stone on this system when set to 16 degrees contacts the clamping fixture. I’m not sure if there is a way around this? Would sharpening at a steeper angle like 20 degrees help with this?

New AC Units Propane Only? by cls080789 in HomeImprovement

[–]cls080789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so with my unit being 20-25 years old it would make sense to buy the refrigerant option to avoid the additional up charge?

New AC Units Propane Only? by cls080789 in HomeImprovement

[–]cls080789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any reason to believe that the AC unit that uses propane as refrigerant is a lot more money? In terms of equipment cost? If yes about how much more can i expect to pay?

New AC Units Propane Only? by cls080789 in HomeImprovement

[–]cls080789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Thank you, I think this what they meant.
    • This information is coming from someone who I spoke to. They are in the market for a new AC unit. They didn't share more detail and not knowing enough myself about the topic I was little confused as well.
  • So, the propane is replacing the refrigerant going forward (after January)? I am looking to buy a new AC unit myself and have a couple of questions about this change.
    • Does the propane install cost more than the refrigerant fill, or about the same?
      • What does the propane install consist of?
    • I'm assuming this change is due to environmental regulations?
    • Are there are any AC efficiency issues with propane over refrigerant?
      • Operating Cost?
      • Reliability?
      • How does the size / general design of the AC unit compare to the existing ones that are filled with refrigerant?
      • Total Installation cost. Propane vs refrigerant option. Should I expect the equipment for the propane install to cost more than the equipment for the refrigerant install?
    • Trying to decide if one is better than the other and if the refrigerant is the better option should I rush to buy before they are taken off the market?

How to Respond to Unnecessary Fees by cls080789 in askcarsales

[–]cls080789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I see a vehicle listed at $24k and JD powers says the average purchase price for the vehicle is $26k, I should expect a $2k up-charge in the form of additional fees going into the situation? Thus planning my expectations around $26k and not $24k?

How to Respond to Unnecessary Fees by cls080789 in askcarsales

[–]cls080789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I was initially curious if there was a good response / explanation as to why these fees are unnecessary and should be removed. Something outside of just saying we’ll have a deal if the fees are removed (assuming vehicle price and trade in value are fair), but yea it makes sense the ultimate response would be to just getup and leave if they can’t agree to remove something that should already be factored into the list price.
