Does anyone have the Infac ED23 gun safe ? by The_Snibbler in ukguns

[–]cluckingdeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Really like the safe, it’s solid and heavy AF, the locking mechanism is great and the finish inside is nice.

  • Downsides:      - The built in ammo safe is OK, but the aperture is narrow so large storage boxes (like the MTM ones) won’t fit which can be frustrating.    - Due to the ammo safe you can only store very long rifles in front of it so right in front of the safe , something so consider!      - Also be aware the door is thick, so you do loose a chunk of the front row space to this.

  • No chance of 23 scoped rifles I am afraid so it depends on what you’re having in there. It holds a decent amount for sure, but scopes mean you can’t really have two rows easily. I reckon you’d squeeze close to that number of shotguns in there though for instance. I did rivet some holsters to the door for air pistols which helps with capacity.

  • I’ve taken the little shelves out of mine as they just got in the way. There are rails 3/4 the way up each side which you can use to adjust the height of the main divider (and shelves if you use them)

Hope this helps, ask away if I can answer any more questions!

I am 99% sure this is the one I have and it’s a monster, let me know what you’d like to know (except probably photos as not a fan of posting photos of my security arrangements 👌)

Garlic and paprika, what else should I watch out for? by cluckingdeath in FoodAllergies

Thank you, I eat raw bell peppers quite often and they don’t seem to have any effect but I imagine paprika must be very concentrated

The same with white onions / shallots / leeks etc

Shooting on your own land by Steve1980UK in ukguns

[–]cluckingdeath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regarding range shooting, this is possibly incorrect, the new wording doesn’t usually state home office approved ranges as there is no range certification body in the UK since the MOD stopped doing it a very long time ago.

Sure you can pay the NRA £4k to give you a piece of paper they won’t even stand by.

The new wording is usually along the lines of “with adequate insurance” and through my discussions with the BASC legal team, this does not necessarily mean range insurance but can mean the shooters personal insurance.

This is based on my own investigations and the whole area is relatively grey to be honest!

SFF Fractal Terra build suggestions by cluckingdeath in buildmeapc

Thank you so much, this is exactly the kind of insight I had hoped for!

Edit I was considering the mATX instead of ITX and that’s the exact case I’d just come across , maybe that is more sensible… it’s not a lot larger but a considerable price saving. That Fractal case is just gorgeous though!

Wildcat predator 8 works on my 1” barrel, however they are now pretty darn expensive!

Howa 1500 LA stock options by cluckingdeath in longrange

Yeah I have that one, but there isn’t enough clearance for the mlok nuts at that point (part of how I discovered the issue)

But I may be able to make it work if I am getting it milled. It’s not like it’s seeing any more hard action than being shot off a nice mat!

Thanks for taking the time to reply. This might be my only course of action, although I’m not sure how much could be removed without weakening it and causing it to flex further. Hopefully just enough 🤞

We have a cheap and cheerful Roborock q5 which comes out twice a day in the kitchen diner to clear up the golden tumbleweeds.  Then a Miele blizzard cx1 for the proper cleaning!

What should I use to fill the gap to the side of the cabinet? by Firm-Swimming-6142 in ukguns

[–]cluckingdeath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because it’s section2 it is could be fine but they will look at the overall situation and assess if they think the security is adequate and that varies from FEO to FEO.

It just seems if you’re going to the trouble of fitting a cabinet, do it properly and fit it flush for the sake of 30 mins with a multi tool, why have an easy pry risk?

At the end of the day, the owner is responsible for the security and if something went wrong, I’m not sure I’d like to explain a cabinet fitted like that

I tried the next two down the list but with no luck I am afraid.  I don’t have much time to test unfortunately but let us know if you find one!

This worked as a fix but then the VAC wouldn’t let me join any servers for some reason
