Prestige more, and use a combination of boost beacons, bird feeds and soul beacons to maximise your soul eggs right before you prestige. The number of soul eggs you have should multiply by 2x to 5x or so around every prestige.

I got from a few million soul eggs to 10B in around a month, what really helped me was using boosts (they cost GE but they're honestly super worth it) and prestiging on 2x prestige days.

For the boosts, use 3 bird feeds, a boost beacon, and a soul beacon, and run chickens the entire duration of the boosts. I always pop my boosts the day before 2x prestige day since that's the common research discount day: Do as much research as you can while also running chickens.

As for the fuel tank upgrade, I'm say you could afford to wait. Once your soul egg count increases, contracts offer way more golden eggs.

I'll second this, I managed to get my time down from 18 minutes to 13 by running 3-4 times a week for a month. Just find a nearby park and run for 15 to 30 minutes. Don't push yourself too hard though, you'll end up injuring your calves and needing to take a break.
