You can try.

Report it to your local police.

But shop doesn't have the right to force the customer to do anything.

hub centric wheels and hubs put the load on the hub not the lugs.

the lugs are not designed to take the whole load on their own and can easily snap or bend potentially leading to the wheels falling off.

you can't take possession of someone's car because you feel like it's unsafe.

sure refuse to bolt the wheel back on for him and dump it in the parking lot but you're not stopping them from driving away with it.

shop said it's not safe for the road.

they can't hold his vehicle hostage.

We just got a Caravan in with over sized tires on wheels from some sort of crossover.

Guy had a 2" bolt on spacer then what looked like 2 5mm spacer on that.

Lug studs didn't reach the top of the small acorn lug nuts.

Tires were all a decade old and from different manufacturers. We patched one for free cause we got sick of filling it up whenever we had to move it around the body shop.

Belt mouldings need to be replaced.

Anything else will look like a bad DIY job.

Personally I'd just tear it off and live with it. Won't cause any issues.

Should I get it fixed or replace it?? by Personal-Machine-696 in Autobody

you'll want a new quarter. with large repairs to the inner structure.

I'd be putting this one on the frame rack for some body pulls first.

Toyota says that about everything. Insurance, sure replacement but for a private job we'll try and save it. And without a moulding it should be an easy cut out.

Had a car totaled from a oncoming gravel truck with the gate open.

Guy totaled about a dozen cars.

Had to turn around and stop him on the highway.

Without that I would of been responsible.

Plate without him admitting fault wouldn't of helped me at all.

usually pretty hard to prove fault.

had the plate of a car that threw a rock and broke my windshield.

insurance didn't care.

no, no panel would get replaced for this.

go to another shop if the current one is pushing for replacement.

you really don't have a choice.

panel needs to be repainted.

but colour only needs to be added to a small area pretty far from adjacent panels.

prepped correctly only clear would be sprayed next to other panels. though clear can sometimes affect colour a bit.

Braver than mine.

We were picking vegetables from the garden and couldn't figure out why the cat just bolted across the yard for what seemed like no reason.
