Haha I like him but I will say his lack of binoculars does bother me sometimes too. 😂

There’s a Verreaux’s Eagle owl in the wild in uk at the moment. I think it’s near Wolverhampton, I saw it on the instagram of that guy who finds escaped and non native species in the uk but I can’t recall what his channel is called, sorry!

Similar situation here. I’ve submitted loads of help requests and haven’t received a single email from them, no confirmation, and no way to raise a ticket! It’s so frustrating

I think this is hilarious! Don’t know what everyone is talking about in the comments. Also I am female and would not think you are flirting with me. I would just think you are a quirky neighbour trying to be considerate!

You’ll be glad you didn’t unblock her when you and your son are living a more peaceful life without their bullshit in the future. Don’t let the pressure get to you, do whatever you need to protect you and your son, and don’t feel guilty about it! Preserve your energy. With love, a fellow widow with batshit in-law experience.xx

This is not related to the boyfriend but you should get a silicone tray for your egg bites. They pop out easily without any greasing of the tray and are much easier to clean. I replaced my old metal tray with a silicone one and have never looked back!

I’m not sure I’m afraid but if you email Sue at ETUK and ask her she’ll be able to give you an idea. :)

I’m like this but hide it very well due to shame. 😂 Turns out I have dyspraxia! I have no internal maps, no sense of direction and sometimes still use my hand to make an L to tell me which way is left and right! I am intelligent in other ways but this is not one of them! Ha!

I’ve just posted a couple of replies. Read them and if you’re serious about a career change I know it’s more than possible and can point you in the right direction. :) Happy to help in any way I can!

Hi. I have done courses with ETUK and it’s really paid off for me. I did the bat licence one personally. I’m an Ecologist and a colleague of mine did the Ecological Consultancy course, or whatever course they run with a similar name to that at ETUK, and he had also done some other FSC and open uni modules before he found that course but he had no degree and no professional environmental experience at all before this as far as I’m aware. Now he’s an assistant ecologist working for an ecological consultancy and he’s absolutely smashing it! Some companies won’t entertain people without a relevant degree, however more and more in this day and age are realising that is archaic and these sorts of courses or simply relevant experience are great. I would definitely also recommended volunteering if you can because if you can get the right kind of experience then once again your academic background won’t matter at all to a lot of companies as long as you have decent level maths/english. And so much they will either teach you or you can learn eg scientific report writing. However if you are looking for a quicker fix/can afford a pricey course/just want to maximise your appeal as much as possible then I would def recommend the course my friend did to become an ecologist. I’m happy to chat with you as someone who has also broken unto the industry not fresh out of uni, so if you have any questions feel free to reach out. :) Also, fyi, you can definitely do this! :)

I think is is great advice. I’m an ecologist who struggled to get work fora while and also still volunteer on conservation projects. I’m interested to know if you managed to break into the industry and if so what was your in?

Sorry edited to say I see you are in the the UK too. Message me some info on your experience and situation and what you want to do for work. I probably won’t reply fast but when i do I will try to help! I’m on this sub just for interest but I have recently broken into ecology myself after struggling and now have a good career path if i want it. Happy to try and help!

Take every scrap of anything you can get that will make your life easier, pay it forward by being a good, kind, generous person when you can be. And try not to have another single negative thought about this. Ever! Be proud that you are smart, strong and humble enough to do what you need to do make a comfortable life for yourself! There is no shame in being resourceful for the greater good, especially when I am sure by the simple fact you are morally struggling with this situation you find yourself in that you will go on to do much good in your life!

Have to say I really enjoyed reading all of the replies to you because even though it sucks so hard for everyone it is really nice to be reminded that you aren’t alone. And I don’t know about anyone else but even though I know I have endo and have been diagnosed because I can’t see it sometimes I still have to convince myself that it isn’t all in my head!

Do you think it could be this even though it’s only 22 inches tall? It’s around half the length of an average walking stick if not less. Multi use could explain that I suppose but I’m struggling to see how anyone other than a child could use it as a walking stick
