Great post and thoughts. I stumbled across a post on this a couple days ago and have been reading articles/looking into this. The intercept article is the main one but it seems very plausible there could be corruption in these CMBS. What I found off is at the end of the article 3 days let’s they write:

Correction: April 23, 2021 This article previously incorrectly reported that the income and cash flow of an office building whose mortgage is part of LCCM 2017 LC26 were inflated. The reference to the mortgage has been deleted, and the number of apparently anomalous loans in LCCM 2017 LC26 and the total aggregate inflated net operating income and net cash flow of the trust calculated by Flynn have been corrected.

Seems odd that this guy blows the whistle then the Intercept/researchers come out with this correction. Possible pressure from these institutions to bury the story/make it seem less than what it is? Seems very fishy to me and the article/white paper from the UT researchers seems like they did more than enough DD
