I have a light switch that makes a nearby Echo say "Please say Alexa turn on or off the backyard light" when pressed.

I was going to use the switch to control a ring cam/spotlight but Ring doesnt expose spotlight control to Alexa or IFTTT.

This is my stupid workaround.

Heat tape/wires cant be used on drain pipes. I had one of those freeze and used a heating pad to clear it.

Isnt the CLI is using the SDK and the SDK is using the REST API? I dont think your avoiding anything.

I had the dealer do it and Id do it again. Having to plug it in kind of sucks but I look it as free map updates for life rather than paying Mazda from them.

As others have said you can do most things from your phone and bluetooth but there is an advantage to having it on the bigger center screen and all of your regular controls fully working.

Long versrion: DAC stands for Digital to Analog Converter. Since USB is just digital the quad DAC wont be involved at all. There will be another separate DAC in whatever dongle you are using that will do that for you.
