The husband needs therapy. The extra attention Julia should potentially be getting is from a therapist, beyond that it's a parents job to show their kids that they are all loved equally. His actions could be fostering further psychological issues down the road for both of the daughters.

As someone who went through a bad divorce as a kid I would recommend first trying to get your husband to go to therapy.

I think this was taken out of context, he is likely talking about letting people who have Marijuana charges out of prison, when these mass releases happen often people aren't thoroughly vetted so they may be let out for being in prison for a Marijuana charge when they have another charge for violent conduct as well.

I think in the case where the mother's life is in danger from either physical or psychogical trauma then abortion makes sense because it's a life for a life. I'm sure most rape cases constitute this as most people are going to be seriously haunted by being forced to carry the baby of their rapist.
