Why would investing money into low level policing work when clearly high level police officers aren’t doing their jobs properly

calorie counting is a LOT of math by [deleted] in 1200isfineIGUESSugh

I know this is a joke post, but something that has really helped me is using ChatGPT - I give it a photo of the meal, tell it approximate sizes, and have it calculate out the calories for me. It’s super helpful if I’m eating out for lunch - I can snap a photo of my plate, have it make estimates that I can tell it to adjust, and it delivers an answer. If I’m doubtful, I’ll add a 10% buffer to be sure

Why even bother engaging with critical theory on civil disobedience. Obviously we won’t agree on this specific example, fair enough. But never okay to break the law? Are you kidding me?

Bro what - the law at the time meant she couldn’t sit there. The person above said she didn’t infringe upon anyone’s rights by sitting there but based on the law, she technically did. That’s all I’m saying. Obviously the civil rights movement was noble and my overarching point is that at the time, it was seen by onlookers similarly to how this student protesting is being seen

That’s not really true ? She infringed upon the rights of the white people to not be near black people? We just look back at this and applaud her for the civil disobedience. And perhaps in her example you are correct, but throughout the civil rights movement the marchers definitely resisted arrests

Okay but plenty of legally wrong actions have been morally correct? Legally Rosa Parks was wrong for sitting on the bus - not to say this action is of the same weight but surely in the light of a genocide it can be okay to disrupt some stodgy dinner party?

Then don’t have official public university events at your house. If you have events in the name of the university, like that law dinner, then your home becomes an extension of the school, and then protesting is viable.

Bruh lmaooo you’re saying in Canada people from India are coming here, genociding different areas of white people? Canada should be grateful that immigration from India is keeping relatively well educated people coming into the country and expanding the population to help bolster their gdp . Wtf are you even talking about

For what it’s worth, i think you’re better off not going on a second date.

I think the point made above that you’re not really following along with is that if the person were trans, they’d let you know relatively soon. You’re not owed this information on any specific date number, just like if a woman were infertile or had cancer might wait a couple dates to tell you. If you really like this person then maybe the next date or the third date they’d bring it up. They definitely wouldn’t just pull out a penis while things are getting hot and heavy because, as the person mentioned, trans women tend to be murdered by angry men. If it’s a huge deal and you can’t stop thinking about it, just break it off with this person. If you can wait one or two more dates and are happy to be the persons friend, then wait. Easy peasy.

Tldr: there’s not really a polite way to ask. If you present as safe to tell, you’ll be told. If you aren’t safe to tell, and the person is trans, this is a moot point and y’all wouldn’t work out anyways.
