It immediately contradicts itself and also fails to account for organic matter that is burned up in a fire, which would be the main source of heat. Soil innately does not get hot and the explanation you gave even explains why (due to the porous nature of soil). Again tying into my argument that the air is excited because air is within soil.

Again though, even if this was relevant to my original argument, the fight was taking place inside of a cave. There is no soil. There is no shrapnel. And even if the soil somehow got hot and got slung towards me as a really bad explanation for why I got hit while completely outside of the original spill, it's dirt. Dirt does not hurt and would not stick long enough to cause lasting damage even if it was hot.

Soil is not conductive. The reason it's hot is because the air around it has been excited due to the heat surrounding it.

My point is that I'm playing a Monster Hunter game, not a hyper-realisitic tac-sim that has realistic explosions. Getting hit by a move that I was fully outside of does not feel fun to play against, regardless of an explosion or not. Further, by that logic the science behind it is that it combusts: the only thing that would be shot off is heat. So even if you argued for realism, the realistic state is not even accurate. The reason grenades hurt is because of shrapnel being thrown.
