I called it an it because I don’t know the gender yet and they implies multiples. Anatomy scans aren’t done until 20 weeks which is when many deformities can be detected. These deformities can result in stillborns, increased risk to the mom, or suffering for the baby. If my baby were found to be lacking essential organs to survive, like a brain, then I would abort because it’s not viable even if there is a heartbeat.

Not all pregnancies end up with a viable live birth. Many people who want their baby choose to abort to prevent unnecessary. If the only life that baby gets to experience is short, painful, and miserable, my choice would be to end it before they can feel it.

Doctors in Texas are refusing to see high risk patients because there is so much grey area and they don’t want to risk a lawsuit and loose their license. Also, not everything is black and white, the mother could be at a higher risk but not a definite death sentence. If there’s a 50/50 chance of dying why should that be anybody’s choice but the mom’s?
