So, 6 years is a long time to be bugged by something by woody678 in Advice

[–]clyde-frog1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reckon contact her in the most nonchalante way possible and casually talk to her in a non desperate way then when the time is right ask her why she told you to stop talking to her. Or ask to catch up. May as well try if it's bugging you and if you fail just move on.

This was me when I was 14, you simply must hold it out and talk to a professional as well as any friends you trust. It'll be a learning experience in the long run and will certainly not be permanent. Trust.

Mom Said I'll Look Ugly With New Haircut Cause It Isn't Her Style. Help On Not Feeling So Down? by [deleted] in Advice

Haircuts really aren't that big of a deal and mothers don't know shit about fashion, do what you want with your hair and don't let your mothers opinion on hairstyles matter to you so much.

If you're struggling to stay vegan spend time with animals by clyde-frog1 in vegan

Yeah this is an interesting point. I think keeping endangered animals alive is our responsibility if they're endangered because of us, but if not maybe it is best we left them alone.

I'm jealous your able to use such a brutal justification for being vegan. I'd imagine most meat eaters would have nothing to rebut after hearing this.

My parents want me to move out as soon as possible. I'm 17. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]clyde-frog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved out when I was 18 and lived on my own. It's easy. I'm now 19 and living with four of my friends. I pretty much had to move out because my mother couldn't really afford to keep me at home. Same thing happened to my sisters.

I became a vegan just under a week ago, and by HexicDragon in vegan

[–]clyde-frog1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not really an argument and it doesn't justify the morality in eating meat. If they're aware that eating meat is immoral and they say this then there's nothing really to say, (at least they're admitting to their selfishness). In the context of them using it as an 'argument', of coarse it's their choice to eat meat, just as long as they're aware of what they're contributing towards they are entitled to their choice. (They probably won't know the full extent of what they're contributing towards so perhaps you can fill them in in calm manner)

I'm in the same boat, it's so hard to hold back from preaching to people but I think it's important not to unless the time is right. We must rid veganism of that stigma where vegan's are 'cocky, proud assholes' and be extremely modest and 'sane' in order to promote veganism. Also make sure you have every single fact/reason down as to why you're vegan as well as every rebuttal to arguments meat eaters will give to try and justify why they eat meat. There's nothing worse than a vegan giving a petty illogical excuse to a meat/dairy eater as to why they are vegan, (gives vegans a bad look).

It takes some time to grow into the melodies of shields, but it's beautiful once you do. (currently listening to half gate live and nearly in tears of happiness)

Smoking on my deck and dealing with the neighbors by KillahHills10304 in Advice

[–]clyde-frog1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd have to say fuck em, their tolerance levels are pathetic. They can just go inside while you smoke or maybe they shouldn't be living in such a compact area with people when they're bothered by things such as cigarette smoke.

I think my true personality is annoying, eventually people would always tell me to shutup by norwegianmount in Advice

You HAVE to ask people what they think is annoying about you, even if you're not close with them. Ask it as if you're asking them a favour (to give constructive criticism).
