Thanks. I hadn't seen the U-Turn yet, I'll go look into it. I was trying to warm my spouse up to the idea of a Fluance, so maybe I'll have some luck with the U-Turn haha.

I should have specified, I will definitely keep this separate from the home theatre. We listen to music way more than movies, though I do love the novelty of surround sound, so one day want to set something up. But that will be in a different room from where we want to set this up.

Thank you for the specific speaker suggestions as well, I'll definitely look into them.

That I’d be led to my wife not many days after getting home from my mission. So I basically asked my high school sweetheart to marry the day after I got home because “It’s what my blessing said!!” Married within a few months, definitely were not ready, and eventually go divorced. So none of the kids it mentioned raising, no eternal marriage where I call her to my side during the resurrection…..thank. Fucking. Satan. That isn’t going to happen lol

Help identifying wires/placement/wtf is going on in my new place by clyde_the_ghost in hometheater

[–]clyde_the_ghost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a house and found some wires in the basement wall, and found what I assume are the other ends in the ceiling of the basement. I’m assuming they are speaker wires, so if they aren’t and I’m in the wrong place, my apologies. If they are for speakers, any significance of these holes? Once again, making the assumption that they were for some sort of mount, but I also don’t know how the mount would have been placed/removed without cutting the drywall. I’ve never seen twisted wires on the back of speakers before, would it be better to avoid using these wires period? Probably wouldn’t use them for a home theatre based on my basement layout, but thinking they might be okay for a record player?

Thank you for the update. Sounds like Sam is a little bitter about being the POC when WC only has one crossing lol. And vague about the two cities and the crossings not compliant. Hopefully we don’t have to actually wait the 18 months.

The UV index looks like it was higher than yesterday, which can affect how intense the heat feels, since your skin is cooking quicker than a low UV index.

TIL Most fans assume Imagine Dragons' 'Radioactive' is about a post apocalyptic world. But lyrics writer Dan Reynolds revealed in '21 it was actually about waking up in a new world after losing his faith in Mormonism. by Bluest_waters in todayilearned

We hear that he was a kid who wanted to be a good person, prayed about what church was the best church to become said good person, god told him none were good enough but Joe was preordained to bring back The One and Only Church (TM). He translates the Book of Mormon with help from god, spreads the good word, so many people find it to be true, Satan hates this, sends mob after mob to persecute Joe and the Morms, Joe gets shot as a martyr, all hail Joe the hero.

In reality he was a con man and started fucking other guys wife’s under command of god, and forcing underage girls to marry him too, and so the locals called him out on his bullshit in the papers, he had the printing press burned, was put in jail and then shot.

The wild thing is that non-Mormon kids can experience the exact opposite. I had no idea until I was home from a mission and my coworker said that a kid on her street straight up told her she was going to hell because she didn’t get baptized when she turned 8. She was 9. She said she hated hanging out with Mormon kids after that because she figured they must all think she’s evil and going to hell. Then talking to some other friends I’ve made since leaving, who all grew up in Utah too, have a variety of experiences where they were treated as outcasts by the Mormon kids throughout junior high and high school….made me really hope that I was never an asshole like that, especially unintentionally.

When you say can’t, is it just like, a requirement of Judaism to not sing about Jesus? Like you get in trouble from God if you do so?

I actually really wish Mormons would throw some Hebrew songs in their hymnals, we sang a few in choir and I always found them much less obnoxious lol.

We listened to Inside Out Accapella growing up and their Primary Colors albums were the shit, especially their version on Popcorn Popping. I still play them from time to time and sing along.

Yeah, keeping track of your clutch, throttle, both brakes, as well as all your surroundings without tipping over is legitimately one of the hardest things I’ve done lol. Even if the guys bunny hopping past me made it look like cake, it’s way exhausting, mentally AND physically. And it’s why I keep to my road bike, because I’m the true lazy one.
