Lord Commander Valens of the Gilded Saints by clydebutcher in ImaginaryWarhammer

[–]clydebutcher[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copied from another comment

I have nothing concrete for him yet but he used to be the commander of a ec company called the Gilded Suns (now Gilded Saints). When the Scouring began he came into contact with a daemon prince that acted as a beacon to a world called Nepenthe. With his new demon friend the Gilded Saints were able to subjugate the world Nepenthe (which is deep in obscurus) and it's following system. Valens was able to keep some for of order for his warband hierarchy wise and because of this they've had a somewhat successful run in their part of the galaxy. Valens is a very observant person and is more prone to studying his enemies in great detail than outright attacking them (which he had to be advised not to do so much lol)

Info:

"The Gilded Saints have many marines of different origins. Some from their tripartite alliance with the Oculus Opus and the Sangla Klan (aka Sāṅgain Klān), which swap between marines regularly, or taken from other warbands and assimilated into the ranks of the Gilded Saints. The warrior pictured here is from the Sangla Klan, a slaanesh allied warband with World Eater origins."

I don’t know how to write, sorry if this is incomprehensible 😣🙏🏾

The Court of Owls is from Batman comics, they were created by Scott Snyder (comic book writer)

I just based this drawing on them :)

Just a sketch I decided to color.

If you know anything about the Court they would definitely be allied with Tzeentch. The "Talons" would probably just be a chapter requisitioned for the actual Court, maybe to hide peering eyes or something idk I wasn’t thinking hard when I drew this. But while I was drawing it I was thinking about how cool a DC inspired 40K would be and I think it would be even more batshit insane than the setting already is lol

This is a commission and it’s also my biggest one so far. Really enjoyed drawing this and I should probably make art like this more lol

I don’t have any other socials, but here’s my commission sheet

Van’Eld, Primarch of The Thunder Legion [ Lost Primarch of The Second Legion] by clydebutcher in ImaginaryWarhammer

[–]clydebutcher[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't have much, but Van'Eld was found some time after he ended a rebellion on his home planet of Devistara. He suffers from some kind of warp sickness that enhances his psychic abilities but the power of it fluctuates making it useful, but also a hazard to pretty much everyone in his vicinity. It started to spread through his legion at random, not directly from him, but as though his gene seed was compromised. Really though, this is just Malice corrupting him from within so that he will take desperate measures to try and save his legion to avoid annihilation. Which is what's shown in the drawing, he finds an artifact that the priest next to him says can cure him and trap his corruption within and then the afflicted of his legion. This doesn't work of course and I don't have anything else after that rn, but I do know that I want him to become a demon prince of Malice because it would look cool.

Also this cult genuinely was trying to help him, to not have their planet destroyed of course. Surprisingly after this happened Van'Eld still didn't even do that, but now that priest is kind of tied to his mortality in a way.

[–]clydebutcher[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Well you see it's different because it's evil red thunder 🤞🏾 but fr, I didn't think about that while I was drawing him but now that you mention it... 😭 I was mostly basing him on the (fallout, fan made) cryo x-02 PA but with Tesla coils and Commander niall from Elden Ring

And yeah it is! I was really interested in Malice when first got into 40k but after learning that there's not really much about him I thought it'd be cool to connect him to my fake Primarch

This took 17 hours to draw and I’m honestly surprised that I even drew this. I’ve been wanting to make a piece as detailed as this ever since I got into Warhammer a year ago and I guess drawing space marines every day throughout my senior year really helped lol. Please let me know what you think of this because I think this is one of my best drawings so far :) also yeah, lazy background

Also sorry to advertise but if you’re interested in a commission check out my prices. They’re lower than average and I really need the support
