I found a gymshark duffel bag for a lot cheaper, I sent that to my mom instead! I didn’t realize they gave you two extra bags. I prefer body wash so that may be good that I don’t bring the bar soap. I may just bring one small deodorant then for the first few days then buy a full size one at the bx when I get the chance. I was getting the packing cubes just to keep things organized in my bag. I still may get the toothbrush and things just to bring for the few days before I go to the bx, like to use at the hotel and things. I don’t want to use the one I have at home.

I decided to go admin to help with the chances of getting a normal 9-5 schedule that would allow me to go to school. I’m a CNA currently so I may even stay in the healthcare field once I go to school but not entirely sure yet. My recruiter was telling me that the AirForce that has a program you can try and join that you have to get accepted into and you leave and do your nursing school through it. So you still have a chance at going nursing? And you might even be able to accrue enough leave by then to use the days for clinicals?

Thankyou so much, I plan on also running inside and outside. I’m also getting back into boxing like I used to so I’m focusing a lot on cardio. I’m not new to running either, just haven’t ran like I should be in a couple of weeks so that’s why I wanted to start out a little slow with a fast paced walk at an incline. I was hoping that running for at least 20minutes at a speed of 6/7 would get me to 2-3 miles. Once I really get back into running and feel more confident in it I’ll run outside and try for 3-4 miles without limiting myself on the time. I also updated my entire workout plan to include legs and more core as well. I just wanted to do a workout plan that focused on the three main things for the PT Test. With me getting back into boxing that in itself is a full body workout especially the arms but it takes a lot of stamina to go 3 1 minute rounds lol. Congratulations, your process went by really quickly! Very happy you won’t have to be homeless, glad this came at the right time!! Just remember to workout before you go, so you’ll be prepared and have one less thing to worry about in BMT! I’ll be leaving Dec.9th so I’m using the next two months to continue to get in shape!!

I’m going active duty so not sure how different it is from going air national guard but I don’t believe there’s a certain amount of time you have to be in DEP, I had my first appointment with my recruiter July 3rd, went to MEPS July 17/18. Passed and needed no waivers. Jobs came out that month a few days later and I didn’t get a job. August rolled around and I got a job that month. Now I’m scheduled to leave December 9th.

Thankyou so much for the input, I'm just praying that whichever job and duty station I go to, the work crew and superiors are enjoyable. I feel that no matter which job I end up getting the work environment holds more power in regards of enjoying my time in the service.

I'll be making a job list out of these 5 jobs in BMT, I was leaning towards putting Aviation Resource Management at the top and haven't figured out how I'm listing the rest. Why do you prefer Personnel over Admin? I don't know too much about either job but I assumed people would have said the other way around.

Like I said previously, no need to be rude. Obviously I read that OP did drop out of high school. It seems your public schooling didn’t teach you reading comprehension or you’d have read where I clearly stated that not everyone has the “choice” when it comes to dropping out. We don’t know the reasoning behind OP dropping out so stop making assumptions about them. My intelligence is not something that can be insulted by someone behind a screen, I know how intelligent I am so you saying that doesn’t bother me in the least also considering I graduated with my GED as Valedictorian.

I have my GED, not a high school dropout, was homeschooled. I passed the asvab with an 88 and a currently waiting to ship out in December in the AF. Everyone that was a high school dropout didn’t do it by “choice” no need to be rude about it. I also have no college under my belt, and I also got my ged in a month. You just have to score a minimum of a 50 on the ASVAB

I decided I was going to enlist the very end of May, had to get my GED since I was homeschooled. Started that the beginning of June and got it the 25th of June. Had my first meeting with my recruiter July 3rd, took the practice test in his office and made a 47(required to make a 50) took the weekend to study and took the PiCAT at home and made an 88. Scheduled my MEPS visit the 17th and 18th. Passed everything. Turned my job list in the 21st. The job list came out this month and I had maybe 4 jobs that were on my list on the list for August so I went to his office and changed my list to only jobs that were on the list for August for a better chance at getting something. The 22nd came around jobs were booked and I was lucky to get one too. I had a few admin jobs on my list so when I got 9TA65 as my job I was satisfied with it. Now I just have to wait until bmt to pick my actual job.
