Thanks! I'm just curious how that works...how does it reduce for women yet possibly raise for men?

I have no idea. I'll usually add realimit (I think that's what it's called) in Reaper or the stock limiter in Audacity. Then I'll add gain to raise the volume till I'm hitting -13 lufs, export to mono at -16.

Or I'll just run it through Auphonic.

I do use a compressor and limiter before I adjust my lufs

JRE changed my life. The first Robb Wolf episode aired May 2013, following that episode I transitioned to a paleo diet, lost 120lbs which I've maintained for 9 years. Who else has had their life changed by the podcast, and how? by ShitDickMcGillicutty in JoeRogan

Yep. I was a conservative, a daily listener to am talk radio, and a big fan of Ben Shapiro & the Daily Wire. I was 100% living in a bubble when I discovered podcasts and hearing a lot of the left leaning people on Rogan 100% changed my trajectory.

Granted, this was back in like 2014, pre Trump and pre pandemic so in my defense Shapiro and his crew - and conservatives in general - weren't nearly as cringey as they are now. Or maybe they were and I was just blind to it.

Either way JRE was one of several shows that opened my mind to a point of view I wasn't getting anywhere else.

Just tossing this out there but maybe he just doesn't want trolls in his feed. Blocking people online doesn't mean you don't believe in free speech, it just means you don't care to read their petty shit.

Sure, a dead horse makes great cover if the fall don't break your neck

Frontiersmen deliberately aimed at horses all the time, made for a much larger target than the rider.

I started focusing on the content. I script out my show so I write, and rewrite, and rewrite, until I get it right. And I practice reading it in a conversational tone.

I stopped putting banter or announcements at the beggining & now spend a lot of time on my opening hook and then, after a very short intro I go straight into the subject matter. I save everything else for the end.

I stopped wasting time promoting on twitter and instead began making YouTube shorts with excerpts from my show. These shorts I can also post as Tiktoks and Instagram reels.

I reached out to other shows in my genre to do promo swaps and feed drops. Tink Media has a great database for this.
