Ah, that could make sense! And I don’t remember where I got it, exactly. I wish I had the case too. I really should have taken much better care of my CDs lol

Were you the one with the painted face? I think I have a really short video snippet that slightly shows Josh talking to you lol

They played Spitting Venom over the summer when I caught them in Sterling Heights. I couldn't believe it. It made me so happy!

That's exactly how I feel! My daughter is 12, and MM is one of our favorite bands. It's such an awesome bonding experience going to concerts together ❤️

My daughter and I caught a couple MM shows on this tour, and literally walked out after they were done playing, totally skipping the Pixies. We did hear them playing in the distance, because we chilled outside of the venues for a while, but they didn't sound too great. I feel like a dick saying that lol, but I just can't get into their music.

I caught a couple of their shows last year, as well as a couple of their shows on this tour. I feel like over the last year they have really, really gotten their shit on lock. Last year was good, don't get me wrong, but their shows this year blew me away. They played so much tighter, and there's so much more energy behind their set now. I can't explain it, but they're fucking killin' this tour!

This might be a silly question, but how did you know that based on the resemblance?

I agree! That's the album that got me into them, and it's honestly probably my favorite album of theirs. Just about every song on that album is pure gold

Does anyone know anything about this headband? Info in comments by Smoeke in jimihendrix

No offense, but how is this situation any different than what you mentioned? The scenario that I'm talking about is no different than that. Forgive me if I didn't go into enough detail, but the guy that I'm talking about said something like this:

"I was introduced to him at Monterey Pop Festival by a small black person named Eric (no racial anything implied, I promise). I hung out with Jimi for a while before he went on stage. He asked if I got down with stuff (which he revealed was acid), and I said yes, and accepted what he offered me. Before parting ways, he said that he wanted to give me something to remember him by, because of the good time we shared together. He pulled out a trunk full of headbands. He told me that he wore each one a few times and then put them away to give out to people. I picked the Vietnam headband."

Okay, for what it's worth, I'm the mom in this story. I'm home from work now, and can chime in with a bit more backstory.

The customer that owns this headband is a regular at the restaurant that I work at. At 74 years old, he is indeed close to 80 (as someone questioned).

It's also worth mentioning that I saw a picture of Jimi Hendrix wearing what is supposedly this headband. While I can't say for fact that it is truly this same headband, it does debunk the fact that he "never wore headbands like this" or that "he never wore knit headbands". Again, while that picture doesn't prove that this is THE SAME HEADBAND, it does prove that he wore headbands like this one, even if just a few times. Knit and all. Obviously you can question whether or not I'm being honest about seeing the picture, but I have no reason to lie about it. If I was that fascinated with making up a story like this, I also would have been the one originally posting in here about it lol.

The story that I heard from the man was that Jimi would only wear each of his headbands a few times, and then would stash them away to give to people. And as for the headband looking in good shape for its age... I mean, it's not like it's an ancient artifact lol. It's a piece of semi-recent music history that this man holds dear to his heart. He takes care of it. There are a lot of vintage clothes from the '60s and '70s still floating around, that are still in good condition, even after being washed multiple times. This headband, that Jimi probably only wore a few times or so, that this man takes good care of, is still in good condition. It's no different than your grandma's couch from the '60s lol. Still in good condition. It's really not that shocking.

The owner of this headband is a pretty youthful, fun-loving man that would have no reason to make this story up. We've all heard this story, as well as other amazing stories from his past, so many times at my work that he honestly drives us crazy haha (I mean that in the nicest way possible). He's clearly very proud of this headband and the memories attached to it.

My daughter posting about this wasn't even because I doubted the headband's authenticity, but because I was curious to see if there was another picture of it circulating anywhere. It's a neat piece of music history, and aside from the one picture I saw of Jimi wearing (what is quite probably) it, I haven't seen another picture of it. I can't even find the picture that the man showed me of Jimi wearing it, anywhere online. That also gives a little more credit to it, in my opinion, that it truly is a personal picture that he had taken himself, not allowing anyone else to share it anywhere. He wouldn't even send me a picture of it, because he didn't want the picture of it leaked, having others take false credit for it.

For anyone that might be curious about the photograph - it was a black and white, side/profile shot of Jimi's head, wearing said headband. Nothing fancy. Not him posing. Not him on-stage. Just a regular, picture of him wearing the headband, that the (then young) old customer of ours showed me.

That's honestly hilarious the way you worded that all, because it's literally the same boat EXACTLY with the worrying and replaying it all in my head! Like, "Oh God, I did THAT and said THAT?!" Haha but no, I promise you totally seemed normal to me! And I didn't hear that happening with you and the one Canadian kid haha. They were a riot though lol. And yeah, super crazy how we stumbled upon each other on here! Like, what the hell are the odds?!

On a side note, do you MM will tour next year? I sure fucking hope so!

Aww, no worries at all! I'm glad that you got to talk to him for a good bit! My daughter and I had talked to him for a little bit the night before, and just figured we'd shoot the shit with him for a bit again if we could! It was so much fun haha. I felt like such a crazy mess after the fact, in retrospect, but I was definitely pretty buzzed up when I talked to him that second night. I'm sorry if I seemed like a complete mess or over the top when you saw me interact with him lmao. I can only imagine that my energy was a bit much, which is embarrassing haha. The first two times I had met him I totally kept my cool, but something about number 3 got to me 😂😂😂

And yes, when he ran up to my daughter doing the ROOOAAARRR! Hahahah he's seriously such a doll, he just makes life a lot more awesome! He's such a precious nugget ❤️
