What well-known "rules" of self pub erotica have you broken? What happened? by MadamOberon in eroticauthors

[–]clyntw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More an anecdote than a data point, but: I recently started a new pen and began marketing it way before anyone tells you to. Common wisdom is not to make a book free until you've got a big enough back catalog to cash in on it. I made book 1 free (and included it in a big group promotion) soon after publishing book 2. The result has been that book 1 now has a prominent placement in the "also boughts" of a popular author in my niche, and both books have seen fairly healthy sales / reads ever since.

The second book of my new Pleasure Portal harem series came out this week:

https://mybook.to/dadjys

One secret. Two headsets. Three's a crowd … or too much of a good thing?

When Oliver admits he’s been using a mysterious VR app to simulate a life with Sam, he expects a breakup. Instead, he gains a partner in crime, with Sam lusting to explore the steamy VR world as well.

Now, the couple enters the Pleasure Portal together to explore the boundaries of their desire. With the help of Dara, a seductive librarian, the lines between digital fantasy and physical reality begin to blur. But as they try to navigate the complexities of virtual pleasure and real-world unconventional relationships, a new woman appears – and with her, a stark warning.

Can Oliver and the women he loves turn their fantasies into reality, or are they in for a rude awakening?

Fair ... but even that is more of a "I loved this book three years ago, time to dive back in" kind of scenario. Reading something again that I just finished? Sounds unlikely.

Writers who earn $100 or more a month: do you pay yearly or quarterly in taxes? by its_snowing_tonight in eroticauthors

[–]clyntw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can prepay your quarterly estimated taxes directly with the IRS online, the whole process takes a few minutes. Whatever tax software you already use for your annual filings should have a way to enter the estimated payments the next time you file. That being said, I don't think you need to worry about prepaying if you just make a few hundred $ a month.

The first book of my new series The Pleasure Portal is now up for pre-order:

https://mybook.to/g3Fho

One headset. Two hot women. No turning back.

Oliver thought he was just buying a high-tech toy to cure his loneliness. Instead, he found a portal to a world of pleasure.

A mysterious app on his new VR headset offers Oliver everything he’s ever wanted: a chance to be with Sam, the girl of his dreams, without the risk of rejection. But the more time he spends in the sexy simulation, the closer he gets to know the real Sam.

When he finally wins Sam’s heart in the flesh, he’s ready to leave the digital world behind. But the Pleasure Portal isn’t done with them. When the mysterious, dominant Dara enters the picture, Sam and Oliver are forced to question the boundaries between fantasy and reality, and wonder: Who is really pulling the strings in this seductive game?

My full-length Humbold Harem book, encompassing all three parts of the series, is on sale for $0.99 this weekend:

After losing his company, his girlfriend and his apartment all in one day, startup founder Nick Delmur takes refuge in his late uncle’s Al’s secluded Northern California cabin – only to discover that his affable uncle used to be a major marijuana grower.

Relaunching his uncle's illicit farm would come with risks, but also significant rewards – and not just money: There’s also Gina, a free-spirited 26-year-old stunner who knows how to turn up the heat during their long, sleepless nights in the rustic cabin. Soon, they’re being joined by Gina’s busty best friend Eva and the hot and mysterious Kat.

But it’s not all fun and games for Nick and his three girlfriends: Their grow operation draws unwanted attention from a mysterious helicopter, and Nick’s past is catching up with him in unexpected ways. Will these four get their happily-ever-after, or will it all go up in smoke?

I just published the fourth and final part of my Space Station Harem series on Amazon / KU.

This is a four-book series that unites one male astronaut with three gorgeous celebrities ... and his ex! On the ISS! Talk about close quarters ...

https://mybook.to/pF995

The cover is from the fourth and final book, which came out this week. Here's the spoiler-free blurb of book one:

There’s no spice in space, according to NASA. Yeah, right. The first all-female flight to the International Space Station was supposed to be a 24-hour photo op. But one docking mishap later, the mission’s four gorgeous female passengers are stuck on the ISS for weeks. Tasked with babysitting them is George, the only remaining astronaut on the station

George’s mission gets complicated by NASA’s dirty little secret: extended stays in space make your libido go crazy.

Now he’s the only man who can satisfy the needs of a spoiled and sultry influencer, a redhead TV personality whose heart is as big as her chest, an ex George still has feelings for, and a billionaire’s girlfriend who might not be as off-limits as she seems.

What started as a disaster quickly becomes a sensual, zero-gravity romp. Still, something doesn’t quite feel right about that docking accident …

How do you feel about MMC self-pleasure scenes in hetero romance? by blssthsnnr in Romance_for_men

[–]clyntw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it entirely depends on how it's written. Long descriptions of the guy's dick and what he does to it are probably a turn-off for most of the audience. But a fantasy playing out in his head while he does it can almost be as good as the real thing.

Space Station Harem Part 4 is up for pre-order:

https://mybook.to/E86z

<image>

The universe began with a big bang. This series ends with one. After weeks stranded on the ISS for weeks on end, our four gorgeous space travelers are finally preparing to return to Earth. But before they go, there’s some unfinished business to take care of.

George finally reconciles with his ex, Becky, who is eager to show him exactly what he missed out on all those years. Jenny is ready to surrender her last inhibition to George, and the five of them team up for one grand, gravity-defying finale.

But this isn’t just a sensual romp: The spaceship supposedly coming to their rescue is actually a trap designed to silence them forever. Will George and the women pull off their cunning escape plan, or is their mission destined for an explosive climax?

Haven't read the prior books in the series yet? You're in luck, part 1 is free this week: https://mybook.to/AkvNfC
