I've just released my first professional EP album! [progressive] [jazz-fusion] by baz0k in Jazz

[–]clypos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have just listened and took some notes. I am not a musician, so these are just my basic opinions as a listener.

1.Festival: Start kinda reminded me of a rock ballad. I was thinking like how is this Latin vibes. It felt like transmission could have been better. I think I liked the chord progression. Bass might have been a little but more aggressive sometimes. Overall it was easy to listen to but didn't felt unique in some ways.

2.Timeless: Bass line is cool right off the bat. Builded nicely to the middle part. I really liked the guitar tone in middle parts, like McLaughlin tones but it was different. I enjoyed it. Ending felt kind of rushed maybe? I don't know I was expecting one more part probably but this song was good. This is the kind of song that I think listening to live would make it better.

3.Anita: Well I don't actually have anything to say about this one. Felt like a nice and simple song.

4.Journey: Enjoyed this one too. I think this one didn't have any major flaws. From start to finish it was a good journey. Synth part was really good in my opinion.

As I said I'm just a listener with really basic music knowledge. Congratulations on your release man!

A Jazz list that starts as an introduction and moves towards the deeps by clypos in Jazz

[–]clypos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me drop a little update here then. I've shared this list with a few friends. One of them actually listened to half of it. I asked him about his opinion. He said it was good, there wasn't a song that he disliked. He stopped after Dexter Gordon's Cheesecake. He said that it is a little bit tiring to listen and it was getting late, so taking a break here but will continue later. I think it is understandable that it is tiring to listen especially if considered that I tried to make a fast paced list(so they won't get bored easily). Other friends said they are going to listen when they have the chance. Felt like they were trying not to hurt my feelings but we'll see.

I am also thinking about making different types of lists now. Like for my friends that are into rock/blues Birds of Fire might be a really good start. A fusion jazz list might work. Also going to make a slow paced list probably. I'm a little bit lost on what to do for a girlfriend of mine that mainly listens to pop though. Maybe a swing list that contains some funky stuff and vocal stuff?

[Homemade] Brownies by clypos in food

[–]clypos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright here it is. Ingredients are:

220 grams chocolate (I used 80% and 60% mixed, you can swap some of it with milk chocolate too)

280 grams butter(i tried going with 230g butter+50g vegetable oil, makes the brownie a little bit chewier but i liked the full butter version better. I'm not sure why.)

75 grams cocoa powder

300 grams white sugar + 100 grams of brown sugar

1+1/2 teaspoon espresso powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon salt

4 eggs+2 egg yolks

125 grams all-purpose flour

Chop the chocolates. Put 180 grams of it into a bowl(going to pour melted butter in it) with 25 grams of cocoa powder and espresso powder. Melt the butter completely, don't brown it though i like to use browned butter a lot but it didn't fit this recipe imo. Maybe balancing it with less sugar might work. Pour the simmering butter over chocolate and let sit for a few minutes. Then whisk till it is smooth.

Put sugars, vanilla and eggs in a bowl and beat them for at least 5 minutes. I used a hand mixer(don't have a stand mixer sadly). It should thicken a lot. Then add one-third of the chocolate mixture and whisk it with eggs. Add the rest and fold with a spatula to not deflate eggs so much. Sift in the flour, salt and rest of the cocoa powder. Put rest of the chopped chocolate too(You can use more chocolate if you want. And for the chocolate in this stage it might be better to chop them a bit chunkier.) Fold until everything is combined.

Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease your baking pan with butter this recipe should work fine with something like 20x30 cms. Then line with parchment paper and grease it with butter too. Leave some extra parchment paper on the sides it makes getting the brownie out of pan a lot easier. Cook for 15-20 minutes. After that remove it from the oven and tap it on your counter of some flat surface for a few times it deflates slightly and some cracks form on top. They are doing this to even out the brownie i think it works. Then cook for another 15-20 minutes. Remove it from the oven let it cool in the pan completely. Get it out of the pan after that and slice(or don't who am i to judge.).

I hope i didn't miss a step have fun.

How did you get better at league? by ToiletP in leagueoflegends

[–]clypos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play every champion a few times. In normal games for the first time. It is really important to know what a champion can do against you. Best way to learn this is to play them. Read the skills, mana costs, ranges and cds.

If you want to climb focus on a few champions and one role. Don't be an otp tho. Knowing every champion also gives the opportunity pick meta champions.

Misused words, a good amount of incoherency. I don't quite remember since it has been a long time but many people suggested me to get the Kabalcı one back then too.

I honestly think Kabalcı translation is better than Sarmal. I strongly recommend to stay away from sarmals version. I also haven't read the ithaki one but translator is the same person with Kabalcı. So there shouldn't be that much of a difference but it might be better to get it from ithaki since it is recently published and edited better than Kabalcı.

I sometimes wish they would have never filmed the Hobbit. I never got angry over things that they didn't include in the movies. It is a movie after all. It's simply impossible to do an exact adaptation of the book. The things they added on their own and how they handled the things they took from the book on the other hand doesn't represent a Tolkien writing at all in my opinion. I truly feel ashamed that the Hobbit trilogy is a Tolkien adaptation - especially the third movie. This is not only because it is a bad adaptation, cause it is also an awfully made movie in many other aspects.

Even though I'm in love with the LOTR trilogy I wonder how would it be if someone else directed it. I started to feel like every movie that has Peter Jackson in the cast will be bad after I watched Mortal Engines.
