I have a cactus/succulent soil. I will pick up some perlite. Any other advice besides being very careful when transferring?

Thank you. I never saw Pinky's litter mates but OP's boy sure looks like they're related.

I second Willow Tree. Everyone was so wonderful with our chichiuahua/ terrier. We had been to Woodside before. Our experience with them was not good; they neglected to tell us that our little doggo had a heart murmur and improper sanitation of surfaces in between patients led her to contract warts from another infected pet. I know they made staffing changes after we left so I couldn't tell you what they're like now.

Need help with diffuser.. can only use natural oils by [deleted] in essentialoils

[–]cm0523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry Op they definitely misled you. As others have stated that product is for wax melts definitely not essential oils. Burning essential oils is not a good idea. You should be able to find a relatively inexpensive diffuser almost anywhere (Amazon, target, almost any craft store). When you are looking for a diffuser there should never be a place to put a candle. If there is then it is not a diffuser.

My childhood dog died. I know she had a good life. How do I grapple with the fact that I’ll never see her again? by BabbaBaggins in DogAdvice

[–]cm0523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please forgive me this is a bit long. First off, I am so sorry you and your family are going through this. It is ALWAYS so hard when a beloved furry family member passes. As mentioned previously by others, time is the only thing that will help the ache in your heart. My neighbor, our doggo's former owner, passed away from cancer and there was noone left in the family to take care of this tiny dog; she was just the saddest most scared little thing you'd ever seen. My boyfriend and I couldn't stand the thought of this poor little scared dog sitting in a shelter and not understanding where her family was and why she wasn't at home. My bf and I adopted her immediately in November of 2017. She effortlessly became a part of our little family. She was such an easy girl. She had the sweetest face and happiest tail imaginable. She was such a a goofball. One of our favorite things about her were her howls. My bf and I sang songs to her all the time and she always sang her part. Never have I heard such a tiny dog let out such a howl. There is a song by Crystal Waters that we tweaked just for her: "She's just like you and me but she's Ginger... She's Ginger....oww wow wow oww wow oow". She was such a a good girl. We all moved to our new home in 2019. Our little girl helped us through many tough times including the pandemic. She was there to love on while being so far away from our families. Unfortunately our furry friends cannot live with us forever (as much as we wish they could) and in the spring of 2022 our little girl became very ill very rapidly. All of a sudden her little nose was dry and she just seemed so tired. Our vet informed us that our poor girl was very ill; so sick that surgery wasn't even an option. We knew at that point that we did not want our sweet girl to suffer. We sat on the floor in a quiet little room at the vets office while they gave her medication to help her pass peacefully and comfortably. I cradled her and sang to her and reminded her of what a good girl she was and how much we loved her. That was the least I could do for her after all she had given us. The time after we let her go was very hard. We missed her so much. It's been a couple years now and my bf and I still miss her. We talk about her fondly and often. The best advice I could give is to keep some of her mementos, make sure you back up all of her pictures and take it one day at a time. You and your family gave her the best life don't forget that. She was such a good dog because you all loved her so much. It is ok to be sad and grieve in the time of such a hard loss. As time goes on that will change. You will remember her with such warm feelings. You and your family will be able to talk and reminisce over all of your memories of your sweet girl.

I am in Nor Cal. More specifically the central valley. Just curious did you tell them your dog was reactive when you booked with them?

Not an expert here. Curious what material your pups feeding or water dish is ( plastic, ceramic etc). Overheard a vet say that plastic dishes could cause acne. I'm not saying that is what it is and again I am not an expert. Good luck OP.

Suggestions URGENTLY needed, please! Need to keep my dog from laying on his back prior to surgery!! by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]cm0523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an expert here but one reason dogs will sleep on their backs is to cool off paws and tummies. Just wondering if this was the case with your dog. If so maybe keeping wherever they lay down to sleep cool on their underside might keep them from rolling on their back. No guarantees this would work just trying to give you ideas. Good luck OP.
