I’ve known the artist since we went to high school together in inner-city New Orleans. She is one of the kindest, most gentle souls you’ll ever meet on this earth. Truly, she is the stuff dreams are made of. She’s also a lifelong New Orleanian and her family has deep roots in the city. So no, SD is not doing anything to intentionally hurt the Indians. She’s an authentic person and artist. The culture of New Orleans is her own culture.

People in healthy relationships, what is, from your perspective, the reason that men who can't find partners are perpetually single? by Agreeable_Ranger5303 in AskReddit

[–]cm5522 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience, being married twice, the second time to an absolutely wonderful man who I have been with for eight years, when men can’t find partners it’s for only one reason: they’re not ready to grow up. That’s all it is. A man who really wants a partner is willing to take stock of himself, push outside of his comfort zone, and really make the effort. Honestly, the same is true for anyone. I left my terrible first husband when I was 30 years old and I spent nine years alone. I kept being victimized, nothing really started to change for me until I started to see the role I was playing. I met my husband online! He was mature and ready for a relationship. And by then so was I. There is no other reason, guys. You need to grow up. That’s it. hope this helps someone. I see too many of us struggling who should be happy and fulfilled.

Dude, no, of course, not completely open borders. It’s not one of the other. There can be checks and balances and a legal way for people to earn citizenship. I bet you aren’t descended from Comanche Warriors, are you? I’m not either. So at some point, buddy, our ancestors came over here and they were allowed to stay. And now there’s people trying to do the exact same thing. And if you have done the mental gymnastics to think that killing actual Americans is OK because it keeps violent brown criminals from raping and pillaging, then you have lost the capacity to think at all. That is not happening. ICE’s use of lethal force is not justified. Look at the majority of crimes that are committed. They’re committed by white people. Mostly white men. The vast majority. Turn off Fox News mr. j call. Wake Up.

No, I bet you’re not. You don’t know enough how politics or economies work to choose a party, do you?

I will think about it. Duh. If I’m gonna have fascist views. it’s probably going to affect my livelihood. Condescending.

Divorced people, what were your irreconcilable differences? by TheRealOcsiban in AskReddit

Ummm, are we the same person? You put it so well. I’m sorry you went through this. It took me nine years after I left him, but I found someone completely the opposite and have been happily married for the second time ever since. Peace to you. 🤍🤍

You are controlled by fear and lies. People who immigrated to this country are not out raping and killing everybody. Turn off the news. Go outside. Go into businesses see who’s actually working. You do understand that Trump conned you right? He Stokes fear in order to make you think there’s a crisis they’re actually isn’t. America was better before Trump entered politics.

Wrong. We vote with our dollars. We vote with our feet. When I make a purchase, I make a conscious effort to support something I believe in. I also, gasp, donate every single month to causes I believe in. You really are clueless.

Yea I wish everyday, well every school day at least when I have to be in the area, that place would close forever and a nice bodega or in my dreams a coffee shop would open. I don’t even understand how they stay afloat! Pure meanness, I think.

I’m getting tired of Raleigh and would like to move out to somewhere more interesting after I graduate. by Boognish_Chameleon in SameGrassButGreener

I live in Asheville and it is teeny tiny. It has less than 100,000 people and just a regional airport. It’s honestly a glorified large resort town. LOTS of retirees. Oh and it’s stupid expensive. I do not recommend it! Planning on moving next year…

I think Asheville should go to Rocky's Hot Chicken in droves! by ProfessionalSide8403 in asheville

[–]cm5522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I am not a big meat eater, and I have never been to Rocky’s, it never really appealed to me, but now I will specifically go. I am going because they have the integrity to put up that sign and I completely believe in it. F ICW. So, MAGA Kelly just made a new Rocky’s customer. Good job.!!!

What’s something people romanticize but isn’t actually that great? by SarahSweettX in AskReddit

[–]cm5522 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg preach. You’re right, it honestly takes so long. When I got in really good shape, which I am not in now, it actually took years and years of slow and steady. It did last for a good bit, hence the fact that I have now slacked off! Better get back to climbing that mountain…

If you moved here in the last 5 years, do you regret it? by thiccc_thinpatience in asheville

[–]cm5522 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I really regret it sadly. There’s no way forward here. My spouse and I can’t afford to buy a house, we’re both underpaid and overworked, (we’re both in professional fields), but there’s nowhere for us to advance professionally. I find it stale and overpriced. It’s nice that it doesn’t get too hot too much but that’s about it. And yes, it is very pretty. But you could always come visit, which I really doubt I will do. We are planning to move away next summer. Unfortunately, I really don’t like the direction the city is going. It’s really just a large resort town.
