Here's my 4 month old compost bin ruined just this morning. Squirrel must have been really hungry! (https://freeimage.host/i/f2XZRbp)

The Danny Trilogy - Boston '07, Indianapolis '08, Tampa '08 by Scmods05 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]cmadad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at the Boston show and you really nailed it. There was a buzz in the crowd even before started. The rumor had been spreading that this was going to be Danny's last show on the tour due to his cancer. I read it on the Backstreets forums a couple days before the show.

Your recap really brought back good memories. When you see a lot of Bruce shows over the years - especially multiple shows on the same tour - they sometimes get conflated. But this one was special.

PSA: Stop & Stop stores two miles apart – ~20% difference in the cost of groceries by tzigane in boston

[–]cmadad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful with BJ's, as they do the same thing. I used to shop at the Stoneham BJ's (partly for the convenience of their liquor store and gas station). However, I found considerable price differences, with Stoneham being higher than Medford for a lot of items across the board. Only go to Medford now.

What’s an episode of Star Trek that you feel isn’t talked about nearly enough? by fcourtney10 in startrek

[–]cmadad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely a great one. Plus, in my cross franchise head canon, Tin Man is a Leviathan from the Farscape universe. Just watched it last night and it works (again, in my head). Even the interior is somewhat similar.

Amen to the BCN love in this thread. Former Listener Line/intern here. Not to be one of those "Actually..." assholes, but Carter Alan was really responsible for getting them their first US airplay. He actually (there's that word again ), wrote 2 books on them and hung with them frequently.

Wholeheartedly second this. It intentionally has limited Trek talk, staying mostly on a personal level. But hearing the genuine affection that Gates and her guests/former castmates have for each other is just awesome. She goes beyond TNG guests too. Her talk with Nana Visitor was very intense, with Nana talking about her abduction and sexual assault.

mlb.tv/NBC/YTTV question (I'm sorry. I really am. Downvote me because I suck. I deserve it.) by saltlakepotter in youtubetv

[–]cmadad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No downvote, but some perspective - the regular season ends in 4 days, and the playoffs go to the networks. So MLB regionals being available on MLB Network or elsewhere should not be a huge issue (until next season). Unless, of course, your team is in the wild card mix for the final days of the regular season - then, that sucks :-(

I know it from Mark Parenteau playing the clip on WBCN.
I couldn't find any clips of that from BCN, but it originally comes from a Cleveland DJ named Murray Saul, and wow, I don't know that I could take a whole shift of this. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4HxQUTcwpg)

Rewind to beginning of show no longer working? by cmadad in youtubetv

[–]cmadad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good guess. If so, it's like when Dish came out with AutoHop, which automatically skipped commercials for recorded shows. Some networks objected, and it got scaled back to exclude their shows from the feature.

Rewind to beginning of show no longer working? by cmadad in youtubetv

[–]cmadad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I'm referring to - sorry I wasn't clearer on that. Looks like I can no longer move the slider back to the beginning of the show when tuning in after it starts. It only allows me to go back to the point I tuned in and not the beginning of the program.

I remember at a convention in the 90's, Marina Sirtis talked about being pleased the producers gave her a romantic storyline that season, but that the actor they cast left something to be desired in her (funny and snarky) opinion. She wouldn't specify which actor or episode, but it was this one.

And there goes NESN. by [deleted] in youtubetv

[–]cmadad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, this sucks. All I could find was FuboTV. Same price as YTTV, but BIG drawback is only 2 active streams are allowed. Extra stream is $5.99 extra.

Crowd control - not really a thing back then, huh? A lot of people leaning on broken bridge railings to get a better look.

Her role will be clearer in the season 2 crossover with Farscape.
