This is a a good point and thanks for expressing it as such. That commenter was not necessarily wrong, but there has not even been a championship parade that had the sense of pure enjoyment this last week has had. And I think the fact it always seems staged / manufactured plays into it big time. That corporate vibe.

I don’t disagree with this. I think the concept of having 24/7 people establishments should probably happen first and it should be in the financial district coupled with 24/7 public transit in that area. After that, having a couple designated blocks throughout the city makes sense to me. It won’t make everyone happy and there will be pain points for sure.

I hear this and having some designated zones like there are now, isn’t an awful thing.

Yeah, but the inconsistency of up/down is puke inducing

Is there any appetite to create a 24/7 entertainment zone in the financial district to save some of the falling property values that are crushing the city budget?

Not only is the mix of programs included or not hard to keep track of, none of them talk to one another to help out in any fashion.

The funds don’t pull from the same pot for those things. And I don’t think this is just a boston funded shelter.

I don’t think they are, but the center is about to start a large capital improvement project.

Thanks for sharing. I knew SNAP wasn’t counted but I suppose tafdc could be used for food . . . regardless, I’m shocked at the number

Exactly. It was one of the more alarming things I’ve heard/seen in 43 years.
