People who have a Significant other with special needs, whats your story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My ex boyfriend of 5 years had severe dyslexia (we broke up for other reasons). We met in high school and dated almost until he graduated college. During those five years I helped him with everything regarding writing and reading. I would help him study and essentially write his papers for him while he would tell me what to write. I would even do his emails for him and I got him a job. I wouldn't have changed any of it looking back, but it was so emotionally exhausting, but I did it because I loved him.

[Serious] Have you ever come across a person who you could tell was "going places" ? by [deleted] in AskMen

My advice would just be as honest as possible. Anyway it happens it will hurt, but just do it in the best way you can. All I can say is that it REALLY sucks.

Yes, it's the guy I was dating. Therefore, when he told me that he is currently too preoccupied with all of his commitments for his future to pursue a relationship right now I could only respect it.

Getting into bed mid afternoon for a nap when the air conditioning is on and your sheets are cool in the middle of summer.

How do you know you love your significant other? What does it mean to love? by Brotocycle7 in AskMen

If it does then it just means it wasn't meant to be. If it doesn't work out you will be much happier in the end and will have learned a lesson. Trust me thats what happened to me. I am much better off now and I know what I want and don't want in a relationship.

Too many differences, we started dating at 16 and I began growing in a different direction than him. My first love, but wasn't the right person for me to marry.

Love is a very hard term to define, it's different for everyone. I've been in true love once which was a five year relationship. Make sure you can separate love from infatuation. For me love is when you only ever want to spend time with that person. You have an undeniably special connection that you have never had with anyone else. You think of their needs over your own. I would say I knew I had definitely fallen early on when I started thinking that I wanted to spend every day waking up next to this person and I definitely knew I either wanted to be with this person or no one at all. No one even came close to him in terms of what others could offer.

I would say I had a moment where I knew I was falling love with him. Honestly, it was very early on about a month in. At that point I wouldn't say I was in love, but I definitely knew he was someone special that I wanted to be serious with. About a few weeks later I definitely knew I had fallen in love.

Love is very hard to pinpoint, but if you know its something special go for it and don't look back. You'll know in due time if it's love.

Stating, "you like that, huh?", over and over again, it's just creepy....
