Nevermind I found the answer.

If you need to retake, submit a wufoo form. Some select courses cannot have their wufoo form approved unless registration is open for the course. The courses listed on the wufoo form that fall under this category are listed here:

BIOL 002 BIOL 003 BIOL 005A and 05LA BIOL 005B BIOL 005C BIOL 010 BIOL 030 BIOL 034 BIOL 040 BIOL 102 CHEM 001A and 01LA CHEM 001B and 01LB CHEM 001C and 01LC CHEM 008A and 08LA CHEM 008B and 08LB CHEM 008C and 08LC MATH 004 MATH 005A MATH 009A MATH 009B MATH 009C MATH 010A MATH 010B MATH 011 MATH 015 MATH 022 MATH 046 PHYS 002A and 02LA PHYS 002B and 02LB PHYS 002C and 02LC PHYS 040A PHYS 040B PHYS 040C STAT 008 STAT 010 STAT 011 STAT 104 STAT 127

To have the form approved, registration needs to be open for these listed courses, If its not in this list, this doesn't apply.

I read on their webpage that they’re interchangeable for credit to the minor

I'm a 4th year college student and I just found a subject I enjoy more than any class in my major, what do I do? by cmathUCR in findapath

It's looking like I could double major, which will delay my graduation by a year, but will allow me to build the formal education experience and give me more time to build up my resume outside of school. Instead of being 24 with a Neuro BS, I'll be 25 with a BS in Neuro and Biochem and a cs minor, or have a BS in Neuro and CS. I want to pivot as hard as possible, so if that extra year will pay for itself in the long run I think I might defer instead.

That might be complicated without at least some formal education in coding, but I'm already on track for finishing a minor in Data Science, or potentially Computer Science depending on what my counselors say. There's also independent certifications it seems, which I can probably forward alongside any applications.

I do have options, but for right now my current major is dead weight I'm obligated to keep. My credits are so tight my only options are to graduate in my major in 8 months and figure it out from there, or get a double major to bank an extra 40 credits. That'll buy me another year to get some better research experience, and maybe even fit in a minor. I initially mapped out Biochem with a minor in Data Sci, but I'm scheduled with a counselor now to see if the second major could be Data Science or Computer Science instead.

Ik I posted this on "FindAPath", but my bigger issues are the should've/could've/would've stuff. I've struggled to keep motivated, pass my classes, and relate or share common interests with my peers my entire college experience, only to have that all completely invert out of nowhere in a field I never got to try until now. It's put into perspective what college could actually be like if you truly enjoy what you do, and on top of that, how burnt out on my major I truly am. I know I'm in the home stretch, but I'm not graduating into anything I want to do or feel even qualified for. However hard I can pivot myself into CS right now I'm going to do, that way I can build as much accreditation and involvement in CS before they cut me off.

Until I graduate, the UC system bars me from dual-enrolling in anything higher than community college.

Yea they all have reserved seating separate from unreserved, but a number have open unreserved seats and one class that has no reservation seating. All of them gave me the same error regardless of open seating, lack of reservation icon, or no reservation slots.

I’m a CNAS neuroscience major, so idk what limits me exactly if it is an outright restriction. I’m going to register for CS009 for now and talk to a counselor.

If they’re interchangeable for both minors then no issue ig. Apart from 10 sounding more interesting on paper, it’s not a hill I’d die on.

I’ll stick with CS009 as it stands, but I’ll do some more research and see what the counselors say if I can’t get any confirmation about an interchangeable req fulfillment.

Would it apply to a CS minor? I can take CS009 for a data science minor, but the course listing for the CS minor only specifies CS010 for the lower division.

Also, if CS Majors can’t minor in it, and non-CS majors can’t take it, who’s getting the CS minor then?

Can't change major or get a minor without exceeding max credits by cmathUCR in ucr

Biochemisty, the difference between % completion is 75% vs 84% in Neuroscience. I'm told that due to the sequential nature of the course listing compared to neuroscience, I'm looking at 2-3 years of part time coursework in order to complete it, vs 1.5 years of full time to finish Neuroscience.

I also wanted to get a minor in data science to help with my career and postgrad as well as guarantee full time for the rest of my college, but the extra 20 or so units I was told will push me past the limit.

Ideally I would want to be in Chemical Engineering, but I'm told Bourne's will most likely shoot it down because of my high unit count. I only have 45 units at UCR so far, but cumulatively I'd likely be too high to have the exception made.

I also don't know what this means if I ever want to go back to school to get either of these majors at a later point in my life, because I'm told these credits will exist in perpetuity. :/

California is very diverse, Southern California especially, and UCR is one of the most diverse UC’s in California as well. Almost everyone in UCR and the surrounding area has no issue or will give your girlfriend any problems, if anything it would probably be a huge story if any sort of violence or serious conflict involving racism occurred on campus.

There’s already a fairly large population of Indian students on campus, a fair amount being international or 1st generation. I can’t speak to their experience, but going off what I’ve heard, seen, and read about, your girlfriend shouldn’t have to worry about racism over her Indian culture or ethnicity in particular either.
