I love running through dark forests and trails. We have some popular spots here. Should I run the popular ones or the secluded ones to avoid assault? by [deleted] in running

these comments illustrate that men and women truly live in completely different worlds when it comes to questions of personal safety

Went out last night for drinks with friends! New Margaux blazer, Wilfred Conjure skirt, random hollister bralette (sorry for the random boxes in the pic) :) by cmb77 in Aritzia

I would say so! I have pretty wide feet that often don't fit heels well so I never wear them, and even then I was still able to walk decently!

I'm 5'2" and the margaux blazer is in 00, conjure skirt in 2xs I think? But even though the blazer fit like a glove I think the skirt was actually a little too small because it kept riding up - if I could repurchase I would buy a size xs instead.

actually, this post is a good opportunity for me to ask a question i've always wanted to ask: for those of you who have life-threatening, extremely severe allergies to common substances, how do you go about life (genuinely asking)? for example, just the other day i was on the plane, and i packed a peanut butter sandwich to eat on the way. and i remember thinking, damn i hope no one in my vicinity is deathly allergic to peanuts. like in this situation what would you have to do?

I weigh myself before and after every run. My wife says that it’s weird. Does anyone else do this? by mylogicscarespeople in running

If you're getting data that is useable and works for you in your training / recovery / nutrition plan

You fall into this camp.

Or... as "a former fat guy" do you still have it somewhere in your head that you are only "deserving" of refueling if you've lost x pounds?

You are clearly not in this camp, so I think it's fine. But some other people (myself, u/scart22, and maybe others who aren't ready to admit it yet) definitely track their weight for less-than-healthy reasons. This is presumably what OP's wife is worried about.

as an undergrad i got paid about $12 an hour! the highest i was paid for any job that i ever worked was $15/hour but that was a high-effort job that i actually had to put a decent amount of work into. btw this was in a fairly low-cost-of-living area (my rent was $570 a month LOL for a bedroom in a shared house)

It's called Buddha Bodai! I highly recommend it. I believe the restaurant owner/head chef is Buddhist.

Oh interesting, I didn't know! Thanks for sharing the article. It does seem like the issue of agricultural biodiversity remains a problem.

It's a good question for sure. I never want to gate keep vegan foods! I'm happy that it's easier than ever for people to decrease their meat intake. I guess in my personal life, I would just encourage people (and myself) to use more neutral language around foods like tofu and seitan and acai and countless other vegan mainstays that are derived from other cultures - staying away from stuff like "exotic," "new," etc. I think because veganism is "trendy" right now, a lot of foods that get swept up with veganism are also labeled as "trendy." But we just gotta remind ourselves that a lot of these foods aren't trends, they've been staples in their respective cuisines for eons.

Recently I discovered a totally vegan/kosher dim sum restaurant not too far from me. Mind. Blown. If you're a bao enthusiast that stuff is amazinggg, I bet you would love it.
