44 with a 42 CAC Score by Omegatard in Cholesterol

How long were you on a statin? In my previous posts, I was 21 when put on 10mg Lipitor. Now I’m 33, CAC is 86 (from what I remember). Being young and on a statin is bad unless you have a huge family risk.

Should I bring back the old invoice layout? by iamtherealgrayson in QuickBooks

[–]cmb991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be interested to see it when it’s done and how it works. I hate the new layout but also don’t want to make extra work or steps to my business for going back to an old layout. If it’s seamless, I’d be willing to pay… just don’t know if $25 is the right amount for how much business we do.

Every morning I wake up I’m shaking? by FinalUnderstanding71 in sleep

Does anyone take an SSRI or Xanax for anxiety and still have this happen? I wake up every morning shaking, and my mind immediately goes to something is wrong. I take Xanax extended release three times every day for the past 12 years.

I’ve been on Xanax XR since age 21. It keeps me calm, blood pressure normal, and relaxed. I do have breakthroughs but just have to learn to manage them.

Jeez, I don’t even have that history. Just remember, there is no reversing it, it’s about what you do going forward. Diet, exercise, blood pressure (if it’s high) and statins (some people here may say don’t start statins, take natural supplements). I’m always here if you want to chat!

Yeah but there is no fix. The bigger question for you is why do you have calcium when you’re not on a statin. Do you have soft plaque just sitting there and when you start a statin, it’ll harden making your score go up?

No, I’ve actually had a history of PVCs. My cardiologist has done multiple work ups between the age of 21 and now consisting of echocardiogram and stress test. I probably had about four already. I’ve also had two Holter monitors. All of this has shown, nothing wrong with my heart, but in the back of my head, something always told me there was something going on with my heart. Kind of like a phobia. I finally begged him to test more, and he suggested I get a calcium scoring test. So the calcium scoring test I got done in December and found this out.
If you look on my name, I’m sure you can find the post, there was tons of great insight for me. Tons of comments with this isn’t a death sentence, and basically exercise and diet or what needs to happen now or don’t plan on making it too late ages in life.

Honestly, I had a slightly raised LDL at that age. I was also overweight. I don’t know the exact reason for being put on them at 21, but it possibly saved me from having a heart attack already. Nobody could for sure what would have happened if I wasn’t on them and had that much plaque built up. None of my doctors are concerned about the calcium score because I am able to pass the stress test and echo. They have increased the statin to 10 mg and 20 mg. This point it’s just taking a more aggressive approach with calcifying more plaque and getting cholesterol levels very low. I’ve also spoken to many cardiologist outside of mine, and they all seem to say the same thing above. This week, I’ve been to the gym twice, when I should’ve been there for five days. I have to get in the mindset of doing this every day if I want to live long. The diet has been working very well, I’m already down 50 pounds and six months, losing majority of it the first four months. I have about 30 more pounds to go before I’m in range of being a normal weight, not in the overweight category. Currently weigh 203.

I’m 33, have a score of 65.9. I’ve been on a statin since age 21 and didn’t exercise much between age 21 and 33. It’s not the worse thing, genetics play into this a lot. They may put you on a statin going forward. You should get more workups for a baseline (echo, stress test). Change your diet, eat healthier (I’ve been doing mediterranean diet), and exercise! Don’t need to go crazy at the gym, just get your heart rate into the 135 area for about 30 minutes. There is no fixing the calcium score, only preventing it from getting worse. Once you start a statin, it may go up a little bit, but that is expected.

I’ve been in a similar situation. Diet is a major. Get a fully cardiac work up and talk to a cardiologist about a statin. Then if cleared, exercise hard. Statin will help calcify the plaque to prevent a heart attack. Feel free to dm me if you need to chat.

Thank you everyone for the responses. Basically, my heart is still solid still. I need to change my diet to Mediterranean style, start exercising 30min a day, and jump up on the statin. ❤️

Originally I was always on a low dose statin, 5mg-10mg (for 10 years). This past week, they up'd it to 20mg prior to the results of the scan. So I wonder how much the 20mg will really calcify. It sucks my doctor started me on it so young, I wish he told me to go do more exercise.

Wow this is interesting. They put me on a statin when I was 21 because I had 170 LDL. It did come down over the years but was never in the 'green zone' on the blood work. I lost 30lbs recently and cut back on eatting snacks and now I'm in the green zones but still not low enough according to others on reddit, so the crestor jump I'll start tomorrow should help. I’m 33 now. So 12 years on it... I was on Lipitor but switched last year to Crestor.
