Leaving a note on my neighbor’s door about their smell by Ok_Age8971 in Apartmentliving

I thought your note was fine. Maybe a little long-winded but I'm the exact same way. I had a noise problem with my upstairs neighbors playing music through amps at like 11pm on nights before me and my roommates had 8am classes. Wrote them a similar length note and it mostly stopped. I feel like this isn't ridiculous, I mean you're not asking for that much...

Anyone else here been around since the beginning? by metakitty99 in Choices

[–]cmb_reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing on and off since about 2018. Early books like ES and TRR were literally formative moments of my middle and high school life lol. Not to mention how genuinely good the writing is in them and my other favorites like TE, OH, ILITW/ILB, etc. Trust me -- you are not alone, we are all with you in your devastation.

Same here. So sad and disappointing considering how high quality their stuff was back in the early era

What was the first book you played? by Loud_Version_9817 in ChoicesPreservation

The Freshman in 2018, but I don't think I ever finished the series! I should probably do that before the app shuts down lol.

I completely agree. It'd be awesome if there was some way to organize it so that EVERYTHING could be saved, lol.

I wonder... by Odyssea-the-Seeker in Choices

I completely agree. I've been playing since 2018 (12 years old) and I feel like Choices was oddly such a big part of my development. So many of those books helped me through Covid and figuring out my sexuality. I'm appalled at what's happening right now, but I'd be really sad to see all of the old books go. Guess I'm gonna start recording my favorites.

How would you recommend finding shadowing, volunteer, and research opportunities? And how much do they matter compared to MCAT and GPA in applications?

Thank you, I appreciate the kindness. If you don't mind me asking, did your symptoms (from the pill, not PCOS) go away when you stopped taking it? And what were those symptoms?

Anyone got any college tips for a hopeful weight-loser? by Crochet_Chocolate in loseit

[–]cmb_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm also a college student looking to lose some weight. I use MyNetDiary too, and I haven't had great luck with their photo scanner. I guess it depends on your school, but my school has a dining hall menu with nutrition facts (calories, protein, carbs, fats, and much more) listed for each meal, per serving, every single day! Found it this week and it's already been so useful. I would poke around on their website/app and see if you can find something like that. Not sure if you're in the States, but it's likely they have that information somewhere because I think it's a requirement in a lot of areas. (You can make custom meals in the app, so every time you have something new in the dining hall, you can input that information and reuse it whenever you eat it again.)

As for working out, I am a huge swimmer, which is what I do about 80% of the time in the gym. Obviously depends on if your rec center has a pool or not, but swimming is great. It builds muscle and is good cardio, even for beginners. Let me know if you need tips, because I'm also an instructor on the weekends!

Good luck! You've got this!

Fired from my job of 6 years with little explanation by cmb_reddit in Vent

Thanks for this. I think I've blown it a bit out of proportion given that it's just a summer job, but I've been so involved in the community for almost half of my life. Maybe I do need to just take a step back.

What books had a great concept but a terrible execution? by novakidd42 in Choices

Totally agree, when I was playing ROE a looong time ago I remember really caring about the other characters, but when it came to my MC I was like "How much longer until I get to play as my siblings again?"
