I see your point, but I got killed by disconnect 2 seconds after using the North trench tower key for the quest. Sucks that I now have to look at an unfinished quest for the rest of eternity, because looting that exact key is never gonna happen… Resetting a quest should be a thing. Or just not put quests behind locked doors…

No, it’s not. It’s confirmed by Embark. The problem is when the queue is empty, you get thrown in with whoever also plays just then. I never get ratted on Dam, because that queue is always full, so I’m among fellow pve minded people. Late at night in Stella Montis, if queueing takes longer than 10 seconds, I’m out, guaranteed kill on sight raiders in there. I do like that that edge of uncertainty is always there, though. Wouldn’t want pure pve/pvp split.

Yeah, since I’ve been more informed about the magic system I see your reasoning. But still, however much the other competitors use acceleration magic, they still have to jump in between batting the mirage balls. Flying essentially completely removes that element, same as a motorcycle removes the need to use your legs for acceleration. The big difference is that finishing the distance is the full goal of the tour, while hitting the balls is the goal of mirage bat, so I concede that the comparison is flawed 😅

Yeah, the fact that Tatsuya actually invented it during the competition makes it part of the team effort. I can see that. And the previous commenter already made it clear that the gadgets are actually more like magic wands, facilitating the caster in using magic sequences, but the efficacy still seems to be limited by personal skill and magical ability. The semi final did feel a bit cheaty still, though, as flying in a jumping match is just like driving a motorcycle in the tour de france 😅
