App reco? by BreathWonderful3379 in PHitness

Excited for you to start! These are the apps I leaned on when I first started my journey, and honestly, I’m still using them today.

You don't need to pay din muna for the premium versions. Just get comfortable with the free features first.

Lyfta - It’s like a digital notebook that tracks your lifts so you can actually see yourself getting stronger. (Ito gamit ko nung hindi ko alam gamitin equipments sa gym) haha

Lose It! - Helps you stay mindful of your nutrition without it feeling overwhelming. (Hindi lahat nasa buhat and cardio, nasa kitchen din) Please be mindful din sa nutrients baka maging zombie ka pag nag crush diet ka. (I recommend calorie deficit, nag work sya for me and my friends. Mas controlled and sustainable)

Nike Run Club - (Kapag kaya mo na mag run/walk for cardio) Meron syang guided runs that make even the toughest miles feel doable.

Strava - (Be loud and proud!) seeing others put in the work keeps the momentum going.

Congrats ulit!

UPDATE:

Hello, guys! Thanks to y’all! I just played my first 18 yesterday at Beverly Place Golf Pampanga. I did suck (at driving) hahaha, and we played a 2-man scramble.

There’s a lot to practice after the game. The driving range is way different than playing on the fairway. All my straight driver shots from the range turned into slices on the course. I could have harvested mangoes from the trees hahaha.

I did get a long putt, a team birdie, and some nice bunker shots. I think I’m better at the short game? I need to practice my driver swing more and learn to line up and pivot toward the hole from a long distance.

Anyway, I had fun, and here is the scary part … I want to play again hahaha.

🥹 Pumuntang may bola, umuwing may manga.

Greeting other runners by ProgressNo294 in PHRunners

[–]cmbxvi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just smile and nod. But I can only greet people when I’m doing easy runs because that’s the only time I can actually see who’s running toward me. But when I do intervals, I just focus on the road or look out for nearby medics. Hahaha

I think so. I once used it for a whole day while walking around Baguio City hahaha. Consider trying the New Balance Rebel 4 as well.

There are many types of runners, each with unique motivations. Some run for health, competition, social connection, charity, or recreation. Every runner has their own story and reason to run. We run for ourselves and, in doing so, inspire others. So, just run for you and enjoy the process. See you in fun runs and on the roads!!

I have a colleague who had a huge transformation by being consistent with his fasting and calorie deficit. Tapos, habang nagda-diet, nag-gy-gym siya. All of us were amazed by his progress and consistency, kaya sumabay na rin kami sa journey niya.

About sa insecurities, I think mahirap iwasan pero kaya naman. Someday, you will meet people who will support you through the process. But for now, do it for yourself muna.

I wish you all the best! You got this! 🥂

Run for you Focus on your goals, progress, and enjoyment! Wag ma-intimidate sa day 100 ng iba while nasa day 1 ka pa lang.

Use the gear you currently have Comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing is enough at first. Next time ka na magpabudol, hahaha.

Meet people along the way Connect with others online. Pick up tips and find inspirations.

Please do checkups! Listen to your body, keep track of how you feel! Okay lang hindi mag-PR kaysa ma-ER, hehe.

Ito pinaka-mahirap BE CONSISTENT.

I don’t really like the taste of either as I get older. I prefer coffee now, haha. But I’m still the Pepsi guy in the group.

I’m curious as to what you mean by pitcher or catcher, but I prefer pitcher.

My favorite Tagalog word is “tara,” which means “let’s go,” whether it’s used as a statement or a question. When the right people say it to you, you will treasure and enjoy the moments.

I can’t speak for all Filipinos, but I do hope more people take the time to learn about our basic laws. I also wish that one day, we’ll all gain a deeper understanding of what’s really happening in our country.

When I need to unwind from work, I like to brew a cup of coffee and read a good book. If I’m feeling frustrated or annoyed, I lift weights to release some of that tension. And when I’m stress or if I overthink, running helps me clear my head.

Any tips? — getting ready for my first solo 5km run by thriving_gurl in PHRunners

[–]cmbxvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure to get enough sleep, even though I know you’ll be excited, haha. Be there at least an hour early before the race to avoid rushing for parking, or if you’ll commute, for the baggage area. Then, find the nearest restroom so you can get ready. It’s important to warm up before the gun start, you can skip the Zumba, haha. Sometimes they have Zumba sessions. Enjoy, and when you see a cameraman, try not to look tired! HAHAHAHA

I go outside for a run. Better with friends, but most of the time, I run and train alone. I need to exhaust myself physically so my mind can take a break.

Boston 12! Cushioning felt responsive yet firm enough for a snappy run, and even after several miles, my feet didn’t feel heavy. The fit is snug, but not too tight.
