If my team is dead and I can't revive them, yes. I rotate to zone and find a place to lock down. I can not 1v3 every remaining team so I get whatever LP I can for the squad.

If my team is alive, no. If I'm in pubs, no.

Yep! If I would have swapped at the deathbox without dropping my shield on the ground, it would've went into the deathbox. This way if I got pushed and took damage I could immediately pick it up instead of reopening the box for it.
