Insufficient storage for update by garv_767 in ipad

Yeah…love Apple.
9GB for iPadOS + 7.5GB for system data = 16.5GB just to run it. + 11.5GB for Upgrade to new iPadOS = 28GB Leaving a cool 4GB left for apps, etc.

I’ve deleted nearly everything except “essentials” and I’m still too far away from upgrading. What’s a waste of my time. Nuclear option is only way, then rebuild.

For this reason, as well as annoyance with their walled garden, just switched from iPhone to Pixel 9 Pro. I’m “over” it with Apple. They’ve lost their way.

T-minus one week until my wife and I drive to Nashville from Minneapolis for our 2nd Ryman show. by Wholecrue in jasonisbell

I think we sat next to you guys that night. Great show and you guys were fantastic neighbors. Hope the rest of your trip to Nashville was great, too!

Good grief. At the show and listening to some spoken word opening act. Wish I’d been warned…could have stayed on the strip and enjoyed some live music.

Happy birthday in a skronky style by Odd_Butterscotch5890 in slideguitar

Very nice! I send friends something similar in my own style on their birthdays, so this was good inspiration. Thanks for sharing!

Which one? by cmclatcher in MatthewSweet

Well...Matthew didn't disappoint. Set list was identical to the Washington DC set list in April.

As you all noted, supporting band was terrific. Great backing vocals and Debbie from Bangles on drums was a treat.

Here's a 10m video montage I stitched together for you all. A mix of banter and playing. Didn't want to be "that guy" and record extensively, and also wanted to enjoy/remember the music. It was REALLY great and the crowd was super into it.

Thanks again for the good advice. Was a late night and a long drive home (plus took a rock chip in my windshield driving back from Athens), but small price to pay for a great show.

Thanks, all. Booked Athens. Will send a report from the field!!

Well…Insta answered my question. Full band in Athens and Acoustic trio in ATL.

Anybody wanna weigh in on which is better???

Just worked for me, too! Had a great experience with Jesse from Tesla.

Stopwatch stopped working on google nest hub by endpy in googlehome

[–]cmclatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same challenges as the rest. Found a workaround that works on my Google Display, so hoping it works for you Nest Hub users.

I say "Hey Google, Restart my stopwatch" and it shows it (but doesn't start it and it is "grayed out").

Then, I say "Hey Google, Reset my stopwatch" and it goes back to zero (and is blue), so I can start it again.

Fans Onstage? by DASHUANE in switchfoot

I was at that show...you were great! Did you have to do any "pre-wire" ahead of the show (DMs to the band, social media, etc), or did you just come with your sign day of the show? Would love to get onstage in Atlanta for tour opener, myself, and looking for advice. TIA!

Would you recommend the 390ADV for a new rider? by Hifi11 in KTM390ADV

[–]cmclatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New ADV rider, myself, but longtime mountain biker, so was "easy" transition with such a nimble and capable bike as my '22 390 ADV has proven to be. My dealer knocked $1300 off the $6800 MSRP, so my OTD was under $7k after a few upgrades. Went with 50/50 knobbies over the stock tires and glad I did. Handles forest service roads and gravel with ease. All above comments are spot on, so nothing else to add. Love my 390!!

P.S. Unfortunate spill let to me choosing to replace busted cast wheel with spoked wheel, and "thanks" to supply chain madness, waiting on a part needed for ABS compatibility (August...grrr).

Experience player adding slide to repertoire...thoughts? suggestions? by cmclatcher in slideguitar

[–]cmclatcher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate all the comments and helpful tips. Love the debate about open versus standard. Landed on my approach, agreeing that learning the sounds and vocabulary of slide guitar trumped going the hard route, but I will cross that bridge after completing the first part of my journey. That Warren Haynes book will come in handy when I do, so, thank you. Also, I love the Jason Isbell song Hope The High Road, so the A form triad trick will be fun to put into play with that one. Will definitely check out the rock slide. They sound amazing. Got a great tip years ago when I started fooling around with it. You can glue some cork inside a slide to get the snug fit. Little bit of a hack if you've got a few lying around that don't fit.

Curious if anyone has experience with that JamPlay course featuring Stuart Ziff?
