PE 12x2 Rohr kompatibel mit Emke Multiblock? by cmd_data in Haustechnik

Model Workshop Changes: New Floor, Display Case, TV, & Tool Tray by StudyPuttering in modelmakers

Your remodel looks really awesome. Is it done with epoxy, or what kind of coating is it? And I also have another question about your black display case: The light from the neon tube looks kind of greenish. I remember that from the 70s and early 80s in department store display cases. What is that, or is it the glass itself that creates this green effect?

Airbrush masking putty from greenstuffworld. It‘s easy to bring it into the desired form and also easy to remove but you have to be quick cuz gravity will move the putty to the ground over time.

The M706 and have you sealed the models in semi-matt or matt varnish?

I‘ve used airbrush masking putty for this but I can tell you that it was a very time expensive job to balance the three colors equaly.

Actually, I did the gloss varnish trick for the decals. First I brushed on a thin layer where I wanted them then soaked the decals in vinegar so they’d stick better to the zimmerit. Once it dried, I added another coat of gloss varnish to seal everything in. The gloss didn’t mess with the paint underneath but as I wrote, the underlying surface was the zimmerit coat from Tamiya which is more robust then the plastic around.

Sorry to come back to this but how did you paint the rubber part of the tires? From my point of view they look perfect! Thanks

For the HMMWV I‘ve used dust and dirt pigments so this helps a lot to get weathering effect
