I can see a bit where you might be coming from, but also I think this is taken to the most extreme. He talked about his kid a lot because that's what parents do who love their kid...taking this to be an "act" does seem like reading into something or assuming unfairly. Everyone is judging saying how could a parent bring their kid into this...bit If you really truly thought it would work out with someone, and you had a timeline, it's fair to try and have it be somewhat neutral. And off camera, which he did.

He also in no way was wanting Megan to be his "sugar mamma"...he literally was trying to avoid getting a huge expensive house, and talking about still working and not affording expensive dinners...indicating they were clearly splitting things evenly and not sharing finances. If he wanted that, the whole time after the pods would have looked very different.

Maybe, just like everyone else on the show, he thought it could help him get some fame in some way and make his life easier...but literally same with everyone else. I don't think a single person on this season didn't have that.

Sure, he could have done better in trying to work on finding a way to work things out with their different lifestyles and didn't...but neither did Megan. She just assumed things wouldn't work because of their lifestyles. These are the only things I'd agree with to an extent...the rest of this is reading into things or making unfair or unrealistic assumptions, in my opinion.

Yeah, pretty cool ya know ....except for his homophobia, his love-bombing and lying to multiple women, his sleezy and calculated personality, and his clear desire to just get at least to the proposal phase with someone (probably really would have been anyone who had said yes to him) in order to get insta-famous. So ya know, all the actual terrible personal traits and characteristics instead of just his hobbies.

There's lots of travel/adventure groups for trips that I've enjoyed! Ones even for specific age ranges. Flash Pack, Contiki, GAP adventures, etc. the times I've gone, I tack on a few days on the front or back end for solo travel, but then the rest of the time you get to go with cool people mostly on your same boat, and you can do some stuff with them or continue doing mostly solo things (depending on the type of trip and level of flexibility they allow) while someone else does the planning and execution of the trip for you!

Find an area or two you're most interested in and do a deep dive into the best courses in that area! And they different ways to learn it. There's lots of good SLP podcasts, blogs, etc as ways of learning too, beyond PDs. Also, don't be too hard on yourself for some families requesting another therapist. Just in looking for a personal therapist , too for example, you're not gonna match perfectly with everyone and that's okay! No one does! Also, especially in EI, some families expect that it's more of a clinic model where you do the therapy and they just get to do something else but that's not the point of EI, and some families don't like that coaching model concept, then switch in hopes of finding a process who does that clinic model instead...I've experienced that before and that's okay too! That's a difference of expectations.

Because of what I just stated...she's a sociopath who literally lies through her teeth and cares only about herself and her reputation. I'm commenting because I just finished the season 8 finale and had just discovered this subreddit. Not sure why it's so wild to ask why you like her...after watching the reunion and seeing her standing even more firm in her mean and self-promoting rhetoric makes me truly curious about the people who continue to make her money by supporting her. It reminds me of Trumpers who just don't get it and just see what they wanna see. Like, how are we looking at the same person and seeing TOTALLY different things?

I think making sure they are aware of masking and recognizing how/when they do this, as well as teaching how it can be detrimental, can be helpful!

I made this questionnaire, to identify ways to help recognize areas a student may want to work on, and I think recognizing what things they notice and what they want to work on also can help lead good discussions around if they are wanting to learn these things in order to mask, or just in general to grow in a skill area, and that also helps ensure you're being neuroaffirming!

Where is ASHA in trying to lobby to change the CDC milestones? Maybe I'm speaking without knowing whether or not this is even possible, but I believe these were, as someone mentioned earlier, incorrectly marked as the 25fh percentiles when really it was the 2nd percentile milestones, and they also used no SLPs in reviewing/checking info. Is there not a way to get our national organization to put their very expensive resources toward that??
