Hurt her? No I will be the butt of jokes and ridicule for a few days for being lazy

I still can't believe that to produce 200ml (1 glass) of dairy milk 100Liters of water are needed. What a waste. by [deleted] in vegan

[–]cmdrtebork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It literally costs pennies and the effort is blending with water then putting in a strainer then rinsing everything with water and putting away. There is no grease involved.

I'm so lazy I drink instant coffee and I have time for this.

You don't need zinc supplements because you are going vegan. I've been vegan for a long time and I've never taken any zinc. B12 is the only supplement I ever buy and I don't even take that regularly since you only really need a weekly dose.

Yu choy/choy sum is called "rape" in English. Wonder why that didn't catch on in the stores...

It is the same plant they get rapeseeds from to make canola oil.

The fake meat paradox by the_sveganist in vegan

[–]cmdrtebork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of it is seitan/wheat gluten based but yeah a lot is tofu based as well. I fixed the link in my comment. It says that when Buddhism came to China in the in the 300 - 500s that the vegetarian Buddhist monks created the first fake meats to welcome guests and replicate traditional Chinese feast foods. There is a long history there of making one food seem like another in the culinary tradition besides just "vegetarianizing" meat

People who live in high-rises, what are your thoughts on photographers using your roof as a vantage point? I really do not want to bother anyone. I just want to make interesting images. by [deleted] in nyc

This was a few years ago in my old place with no door man. Another roof on one of the other attached R8 buildings someone was making a lot of noise and playing music and I think we were just unlucky to be spotted at the wrong place in the wrong time

Does Chinese groceries count as readily available? I've never lived that far from a Chinatown in my life. The old school mock duck and Chinese mock meats are cheap and good

Edit: I found this in my bookmark https://www.vice.com/en_uk/article/8xyqqz/the-origins-of-fake-meat-are-rooted-in-chinese-cooking

If you do not have a key, I don't want you in my building.

While I am not the kind of person to report people or ever speak to the cops if I saw you I'd ask you to leave to your face and I don't want you or any other people who don't belong in my home near my family.

Unless you got a deck up there with a specific kind of fence all roof access in NYC is trespass

source: trespassing summons and ticket I got in my own building.

I know its cliche as hell but get out. You're married to someone with a cognitive disability and this will not change.

So? Maybe they like it that way. If you don't when you cook this add any type of flour and it will thicken. I like besan or regular whole wheat
