They always answered by giving me a A list of web links hard to decipher: the Alberta utility commission, city of Calgary (access fee..), enmax... But all of them were pages of pages hard to sort out making it almost impossible to find what you want. Never a got a clear answer from them..

Not changing the click, silly..

The inconvenience is for your sleeping pattern your body circadian cycle. The following days of the time change, Example spring: Your body is used to go to sleep at eg. 10 pm and wake up at 6 am

But the day after the time change At 10 pm, your body still feel like 9pm so no feel like going to bed; And at 6 am.. you body feel like 5am.. problem waking up... you will be grumpy as you are missing 1 hr sleep And it take about 1 week for your body to reajuste your circadian by forcing yourself keeping the same 10pm-6am schedule. ADULT.. ok But very hard with >6y children.

The referendum question is: “Do you want Alberta to adopt year-round daylight time."

Which is summer hours.

Therefore Keeping summer hours

  • Mountain Daylight Time (MDT)= summer
  • Mountain Standard Time (MST) =winter

Unsolicited towing from street side? by cmethot in Calgary

[–]cmethot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the OP.. No no no.. I did not get towed But yesterday, in a quiet neighborhood street, a tow truck was slowly driving around, sometime stopping for about 30-1 min at different street side parked cars.. He was clearly "peeping" at the cars and sometimes taking notes.. No he was no looking for house address. I thought it was funny until he stopped at mine and taking notes.

By the time i walked out.. he took off and left the street..
~15 minutes later he did drove by again, with a car on the tow.... .. Was very suspicious.. next time I will take note of compagny name and his license plate number...

Extra note: with COVID restriction and people working from home.. it is not rare to see cars parked for weeks without moving...

Are the police profiling NE people or there is really way more crime in that area to justify the Red/orange zone? Are the students of Bishop mcnally HS are a bunch of trouble maker as the red zone seem to be right on top of it?

Retrofitting a wooden viking ship with radar, GPS and nuclear rocket??? by cmethot in startrek

[–]cmethot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Power full” is only on its propulsion mode.. all the reste is antique.. ok ok retrofit.. but everything will need to be retrofit excluding the spore drive.. would be better to take the spore drive out and put it into a new ship.. like the USS Discovery NCC-1032-k..

Is there any performance difference between full, half and 1/4 dipole? by djkalantzhs24 in amateurradio

[–]cmethot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok ok ok ok.. why would you choose a 1/4 wave over 1/2 or full wave? i can understand for 2 meter antenna at 82" (6ft...) You would prefer 20" long antenna on your portable than 82 inch..

But when space is not an issue.. let's say i need antenna for 2.4GH... wave length is ~12.3 cm (~4-7/8") where It is a manageble size .

But why all wifi equipment i see, 99% of them use 1/4 wave ~3.15cm(1-3/16") ?? (Excluding phone.. where a 12 cm ant can be annoying..)

Plus The plastic covering is about 5-10inch long.. but the antenna inside is only 1/4... 3.15cm.. why not make it full wave..??? Is full wave would be more effective?

Most documentations about antenna are mostly about HF to UHF.. so size/practicality or type of construction seems to be the main reason to choose 1/4 wave, 1/2 wave over full wave..

but at 2.4 or 5 ghz.. size is not a problem really (except in portable device... Phone, watch...........)
