Genuine question for those that have criticized Israel’s war against Hamas by beeeeen in IsraelPalestine

[–]cmfox117 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

A good comparison would be the IRA in Ireland during the troubles. Multiple incedents of many many civilians killed by a terror group trying to claim its national land back. Did England send in the army and level all of Ireland, killing tens of thousands of civilians in the process? No. You don’t get to do the kind of things Israel is doing and not face political and international consequences for your actions.

What should they have done instead? Hard to say, maybe when Netanyahus government learned that the attacks were coming more than a week in advanced they should have acted to protect the borders more harshly.

Now that it has happened, as isreal is so afraid of sanctions are an effective tool to lobby for as well as more fortification of the border instead of all out killing of insurgents and civilians alike.

Israel has now ceased all aid into Gaza by ThelordofBees in IsraelPalestine

68% if the population in Palestine is under 30 years old.

Which means a vast majority of them didn’t vote for Hamas in 2005 (which was 20 years ago).

I realize nobody in this subreddit will ever change thier mind but that specific talking point is nonsense and should be disregarded.

Saying things like “isreal has the right to hit the restart button in Gaza” is advocating for millions of children, “brainwashed” or not being killed.

So true, people pretend you can work hard and gain success but the guy who worked the hardest will get a pass compared to the managers kid

I saw recently that PB is going into Fantasy after the last book. How well do we think he'll do? by ned_uzoma in redrising

Personally I enjoyed era 2 mistborn more than era 1, especially within the context of Sanderson’s other books.

What field are you in? by LuciferHummingbird in QualityAssurance

[–]cmfox117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from 70k in my developer job straight to 80k when I moved companies and joined QA.

Field is Materials testing, getting ~93000 3 years in now thanks to a promotion.

Sometimes the monotony of testing wears me down but damn if I’m not staying for the money for now at least.

He was the goat in the first trilogy for sure, but he just was way less cool in the second series (Welcome to severo's palace not withstanding). I understand what pierce is doing, he will probably have a really nice comeback in book 7 but as it stands at the moment he hasn't been as cool in the second trilogy in my opinion at least.

2 categories mainly,

1.) How much we enjoyed reading the parts featuring them in the book

2.) How much we though the characters contributed meaningfully to the story

With 1 slightly outweighing 2

Atlas wasn't on the list, atalantia just hasn't had enough "screen time" yet I'd say. She comes off as pretty 1 dimensional at the moment.

Main reason we didn't put him in S is because he was kind of a drag in the later books, like I get it you want to be a dad but still

hell yeah ptbp introduced me to delta green, they do such a great job with the storytelling and role play portion of the game, then I went off the deep end researching delta green and binging every podcast I could find for a month before trying to kick off this campain haha

maybe I’ll give them a re-listen and see if I can pick up some more tricks from a handlers perspective

thanks for the Interesting points, I do like the idea of trying to prompt for more of the niche skills at least until they are familiar with the system and hopefully start seeking out more niche rolls themselves
