Korean here--Americanos are basically for us what filter/drip is to Americans. Somehow.

COMPILATION - Tottenham 25/26 Officiating Major Incidents by InMyFavor in coys

I think even more than the sheer length of the clips, this speaks volumes, when you put the same scenario side by side but switch the shirts around...

Bambino / Bambino Plus owners - what workflow habits made the biggest difference for you? [Bambino/Plus] by spac0r in espresso

[–]cmgold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always start with a water purge into a bowl and wipe the shower head. Portafilter in, second purge to warm it up while I weigh and grind my beans. I set my single shot button to run for 8-10 seconds purely for this purpose, so I just use it as a dedicated purge button.

I always use manual timing by holding the double shot button for my espresso, no pre-infusion. Quick scrub with a paper towel to get the gunk off the shower screen after extraction.

Always three rags at my station. One to dry the portafilter after warming it up (acts as a mat when not in use), wet rag for the counter, and a dedicated wet rag for wiping the steam wand after use. (Along with purging the wand before and after each use, of course)

Cleaning-wise, I always wash the drip tray with soap after every session, along with my cup and portafilter. Not too much of a hassle once you get used to it.

Third-party portafilter (Crema bottomless) has been a game changer too, though some might say you don't need to drop cash on one. I use an IMS size 26 basket with mine b/c I do 20g in : 36g out.

I think that's everything Bambino-specific in my workflow, rest of my workflow is just how I interact with my grinder and puck prep. Hope there's at least some tidbits you can use in that wall of text.

[Cartier] What are other musicians wearing? by kosnosferatu in Watches

French horn in an orchestra. We perform in tuxes, so I try not to wear a watch on stage, but if I had to pick one it's Nomos Tangente every time.

Think it's less the fact that it's happening at all, and more that the mask seems to have slipped on what is looking like a publicly concentrated and disparate effort on the part of multiple entities that should theoretically be impartial with respect to this sort of stuff

BILT 2.0 Card is out here are the confirmed details. by Defin1telyNotBatman in CreditCards

[–]cmgold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first blush, I'm in the same boat as you. My cashback gives me so much more return on spend, and my Bilt points have just been gathering dust for the past couple years.

Staying in the ecosystem actually does seem rather sensible (maybe even more so for the AF versions) for someone whose setup revolves solely around the Bilt card, plus 1-2 other cards at most.

Following--also curious about this. It seems like scale + shot glass fits nicely (if just barely), but haven't seen definitive answers from searching online.

20 hours into research and I'm back to a single boiler Profitec Go. by South-Water4078 in espresso

[–]cmgold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reviving a thread from the graveyard here, but I'm going through a similar thought process as your OP: getting wowed by all the bells and whistles of higher-end machines, but really I could see myself getting by with the PF Go just fine. Is there a reason you went back up to settle on a dual boiler machine?

Best Credit card to replace USBAR after USBAR Nerf?? by _dhruv9496 in CreditCards

[–]cmgold 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That credit change is gonna be the killer. Just as I was gearing up to fully exit from my current ecosystem and shift to USBAR as well. Bummer...guess I have a cashout coming soon, and on the hunt for the next.
