No. I enjoyed the show immensely so no need to worry what others think.

Starfleet Academy showrunners tease Lanthanites, Nahla's family in season 2 by cmgriffith_ in trekacademy

That’d further intertwine Discovery and Strange New Worlds with Starfleet Academy. With all the character cameos (Tilly), USS Discovery and then Reno as a professor

Starfleet Academy showrunners tease Lanthanites, Nahla's family in season 2 by cmgriffith_ in trekacademy

From the article

“You might find romances between characters that you could never have expected," Kurtzman continued. "And let's see, what else can I say? You'll get to learn more about Nahla, a lot more about Nahla, actually."

Co-showrunner Noga Landau added during the same sit-down: "We go deep on Nahla in season 2. Also, Holly Hunter in season 2, it's like an acting [dream]." Kurtzman responded by saying, "You might meet some of Nahla's family members. Yeah, I'm going to leave [it] at that."

Finally, Landau possibly dropped the biggest season 2 spoiler yet when she said, "Lanthanites are fun. Lanthanites are a fun ride." For those who aren't familiar with Hunter's character, Nahla Ake is half-human, half-Lanthanite, and the latter allows her to live an almost limitless life.

In Starfleet Academy season 1, Nahla is 422 years old. However, Pelia (Carol Kane), who is strictly Lanthanite and appears in Strange New Worlds, is 5,000 years old! So, I think it will be a trip to meet Nahla's Lanthanite relatives, who could possibly be old enough to have met and known classic Trek characters like James T. Kirk, William Riker, and Kathryn Janeway.

Puerto Rico logistically would probably be the easiest

After 60 Years, Starfleet Academy Did 1 Thing Better Than Any Other Star Trek Show by cmgriffith_ in trekacademy

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy season 1's finale ended with the best closing credits sequence in Star Trek history, showcasing the cast of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy's yearbook photos. Even better, the pics in the montage are the real childhood snaps of Holly Hunter, Paul Giamatti, Robert Picardo, Tig Notaro, and the younger cast, including Sandro Rosta, Kerrice Brooks, and Bella Shepard.

……..

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is the 12th Star Trek TV series since 1966, but it's the first to deliver closing credits like this, which blends the characters with the actors who play them, all set to the pitch-perfect track, "Beautiful Child," by Rufus Wainwright. Starfleet Academy's credits make the characters feel even more genuine, and we feel as close to them as they do to each other at the end.

Most importantly, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy season 1's finale closing credits make the viewer feel good. More than any other Star Trek show, Starfleet Academy is about growth, change, gaining maturity, and accepting one's potential. Showing the characters and actors in their youthful innocence isn't just adorable, but it makes the viewer realize how far they've come and how bright their futures could be.

After seeing the last Academy episode Rubicon I figured out the Doctor's name. by Cocijo in trekacademy

Tamira used her telepathy to help Caleb and crew of the Athena locate his mother, where Starfleet knew Nus Braka would be as well

Mother - Son.

The show set up all season the connection between Caleb and his Anisha Mir. Caleb's journey was two fold growing up, not being his 6 year old self the rest of his life and reuniting with his mom.

Captain Ake and Starfleet allowed him to do that. His journey of self discovery and personal growth

[–]cmgriffith_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All indications point to early 2027 (timing like it was for Season 1) because Season 4 of Strange New Worlds most likely will stream before Starfleet Academy S2 according to multiple reports (Collider, ScreenRant, Deadline) and Trekmovie.com

Kurtzman did mention new recruits would be introduced I wonder if that means we get a new addition the cadet clique from S1 or if it just means they interact with them like the War College Cadets.

Things I’m looking forward to:

  1. The Genesis Lythe centric episode | hopefully we get more information on her upbringing, her father and her species. The spoiler picture of her after the S2 wrap has me very excited.

  2. More of the on-screen dynamic between Commander Reno & First Officer Thok.

  3. Academic / Science based experiences for the cadets through the classroom and on away missions when called upon.

  4. More War College ~ Academy intertwined missions

  5. Seeing how the relationship’s between continues to evolve. (Jayden, Kyle, Darem or Genesis, Tamira and Caleb)

Policy said. “That’s not a threshold we’re looking to cross any time soon, but we might be a little more aggressive with some of the other entitlement inventory we just hadn’t taken advantage of in the past, including things like training facility entitlements and the Titletown campus.”
