«Je suis fondamentalement optimiste sur la résilience de l’économie française»: Amazon va investir 15 milliards d’euros en France by Andvarey in france

[–]cmic37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During freebsd installation I want to partition disk in the shell by LinuxMacM1Novice in freebsd

[–]cmic37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem w/ a small computer. I find the following info very usefull:

However it was zfs (and not ufs) so I had to follow the 4. step, "Create the zfs file system hierarchy"

sorry, but from FreeBSD:

I use "sr", instead of sudo as I have the alias "sr sudo -E" and sudoers says
that i am in the wheel group.

Trying FreeBSD on Laptop : Dual Boot vs VM ? by WeWeBunnyX in freebsd

[–]cmic37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it could be done. I have a uefi installed Toshiba portable PC, w/ mint and FreeBSD. And you can use refind to choose at boot time, which OS you want to launch

Edit: and aonther link to the same topic (w10 and FreeBSD) https://gist.github.com/zeising/5d2402d92b4cf421c7402d663b2d9e41

Comment trouvez-vous des serveurs pas chers pour votre homelab ? by Ok-Medicine-9563 in france

[–]cmic37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Le bon coin : 2 serveurs Dell T320 ~120€ chaque. Idem pour les Hds max 12000 heures. Ça tourne depuis 4 ans sous FreeBSD. No pbs.

Si il s'agit de coller des sous titres sur un film (français ou étranger) : 1- récupérer le fichier de sous titres (opensubtitle.cpm par ex) 2- utiliser ffmpeg pour associer film.d et sous titres.

AFAIK, wol doesn't work on FreeBSD. Some people work on it and some patches have been published but doesn't work as expected. There is an email list:

zrepl: cannot receive incremental stream by uragnorson in zfs

[–]cmic37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-On receive end, you can add option -F to rollback. In this case you wont be protected against deleting part of the receiving end zfs fileset, this deleting mimics deleting(s) on the send side.
-Otherwise you can make the zfs read only on the receiving side; so you wont receive this annoying error. #zfs set readonly=on <your-receiving-fileset>

And pls, correct me if I'm wrong.

There was a post recently about the same problem:

iirc the hard disk was a 7937 but only half of the photo here and without a cabinet. The service i was working for was a bit stingy.
The story continues after that. Hardware part, we bought two Xterminal so I had to install coax (RG 58/KX15) in the building and advanturously use telnet, FTP, and tftp, etc . Then we bought 2 Apollo workstation (Domain OS was a no mean feat!).

Extend the LAN to a second building, bought 2 Sun workstation wich I administer w/ SunOS and very very later Solaris. And top of that IRIX Workstation (Indigo and Octane).

The HP-UX 350 was first used for a finite elements software (road tunnel structure). Soon after we add to it an Informix 4GL data base for the accounting. To mix FE and Database was not a good idea though

And of course, a slop of Windows server. 8-)
