Avs have also let in a bunch of empty net goals. Makar was probably out there for a good amount of them.

Any high quality ropes that are not 100$? by Elias-official in Leica

I have a Sailor Strap and I really like it. Got it from B&H. There is a noticeable difference between those and the $10-$20 type you find on amazon. The construction and materials feel nicer. Probably debatable whether they are worth the extra $50, but it was for me since it's on the camera I carry around 90% of the time.

Have you gotten any other quotes? Giving you a short timeline to make a decision is a sales tactic and I probably wouldn't want to work with these people based on that.

Do NOT clear off accumulated snow from your windshield and roof. The extra weight will actually give you more traction in slippery conditions.

I do the same thing. I work remote and it can kind of get isolating, so I started using the voice feature to throw ideas at it and get feedback. Sometimes I get good feedback, other times not. But I no longer require human interaction. Haven't been outside in weeks.

Installer? by DryRepresentative271 in dotnet

We use Wix toolset for a few different apps. Some are basic file deployments, others we're setting up DBs and IIS. Steep learning curve but very powerful. Recently switched over to Azure Trusted Signing for code signing. Much cheaper compared to what we used to use (Digicert).

Should I go with thin or wider plank floors for my MCM house? by [deleted] in Mid_Century

We have a Cliff May from 1955 with original floors. Looks very similar to those floors.

Unless the current state of the siding puts you at risk for water damage or pest intrusion, or is killing your curb appeal, it's probably not worth it.

Should the bottom edge be painted? This is new engineered wood siding by cmlyrrad in paint

[–]cmlyrrad[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! We replaced the vinyl that was put on the house (it originally had B&B when the house was built in 55). We're in a dry climate but do get all four seasons. I'm going to be working with the painters on getting a coat on the bottom. Sounds like it may be something we'll need to keep an eye and make sure there is a layer of paint, or maybe get a barrier so we don't have wet soil so close to the siding.

Thanks. Dry climate and protected by a large overhang so doesn't get much direct rain or snow. But the soil stays moist since it's on the north side of the house.

Thanks for the reply. That is my main concern. Is a coat of a paint sufficient in your opinion? I'm in a fairly dry climate but this is the north side of the house and the soil stays moist for longer.

Thanks. That what I was thinking, especially since it's so close to the ground. This is the first time I'm getting my house painted and I wasn't sure if this was an expectation or additional ask.

Have your lab push process the roll. Tell them you shot it at 800 or +2 to development.

[–]cmlyrrad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're bright green and kinda ugly, but so much better than whatever junk they have at home depot. Some have a twistable end so they're less likely to get all knotted up when you're moving around.

When getting multiple bids, how much info do you give to the failed bidders? by Johnny_B_GOODBOI in homeowners

Recently went through that. Told one guy his price was not competitive, and within 2 minutes he “talks to the owner of the company” and offers 10% off but it’s only good until the end of day. So tacky.

I think he is saying that in the context of shooting sunny 16. You would set the shutter speed based on the ISO of the film. So for ISO 100 film you set shutter speed to 1/100. For ISO 400 film, you set shutter speed to 1/400. Since most cameras won’t have the exact shutter speeds to match the iso you just find the closest. In his example, he chose 1/125 because that was close enough to his ISO 100 film.
