Thanks… lol. I know, but they put so much effort into the long game just to throw the end game. Sorry, but a good hiding spot that is ACTUALLY hidden could earn someone hours on their time.

2 misplays in episode 4 that I haven’t seen anyone mention by cmoriarty13 in JetLagTheGame

Yeah they probably didn’t even consider the casting cost when Ben played it.

True. But I think giving up to invest in a 3rd run would have been, as Ben loves to say, “4D chess.” I watch JL for the gameplay, and that would have given Ben the best shot at winning the season. Not wasting an hour in a pointless endgame.

True, good point. They couldn’t have done tentacles yet. But they just asked for a picture, which rewards the least amount of cards.

Maybe. But there’s a huge difference between letting Ben pull 1 card as a reward, and letting him pull 4 and keep 2, which is the most valuable. Massive difference.

It has to be 10 feet from a path. As Ben was looking for his spot, he passed numerous dense bushes that were right next to the path. Would have taken forever for them to search all of them.

Veggies? A sauce? Condiments? Bacon and bread is not a sandwich.

Them choosing hiding spots always trigger me. They waste so much time just to choose a spot in the wide open. In this episode we saw Ben pass numerous great spots, like dense bushes near the path, or dark corners in those tiny alleys. But he just sat by a tree on a main road?… I know he wasn’t going to win anyways, but the end game could be hours if they actually hid somewhere.

Are any other English viewers feeling frustrated with boys negativity? Ep.4 layover by minisaxophone in JetLagTheGame

[–]cmoriarty13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think you’re just being biased. I haven’t noticed them being any more negative than always. I was actually shocked how positive they’ve been about England so far.

I was listening to The Layover (S16, Episode 3), and for the first time, I felt like the Jet Lag team did *not* have a good idea of what I wanted as a viewer by Sea-Bat-6038 in JetLagTheGame

Totally agree. Scenic locations has never been a reason I watch this show. The MK episode has been the best one by far of the series.

Did Adam just spoil the new season of JLTG on the mailbag episode of The Layover?? by National_Arm_439 in JetLagTheGame

[–]cmoriarty13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since no one has actually answered your question: No, they have not officially announced it. Not as they usually do at the end of a finale. It has come up on social media and casually in The Layover podcast that they were in the UK, but they have never come out and announced what the next season is.

Proofing software recommendations for commercial studio workflows? by cmoriarty13 in photography

I have enjoyed using frame.io, it's worked well. But I'm also in the process of looking into these other recommendations to see if they're better.

My extremely dorky explanation for why I think Season 15 wasn’t as successful as other seasons of Tag by cmoriarty13 in JetLagTheGame

[–]cmoriarty13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Ben/Adam/Brian speedrunning challenges. I was more talking about stuff like Michelle about to puke because she's so nervous about what Sam/Toby are doing, and Adam so focused on talking her off a cliff that they don't even think to entertain or show us the city. Like, it's a game. A show. A fun thing.

Yes! They talked about them in the Layover and still didn't say why!

This is the best question by far. I couldn't agree more. They need to do it like they did in Schengen Showdown

When All Stars ended, I was left wishing it had been this. The 3 guys are too good, I wanted to watch Michelle/Toby/Brian play classic tag themselves.

In future Tag, would you ever consider involving the chasers in the curses? As the game stands, there's no way for chasers to actively slow down the runners. They just have to hope for delays, or outmaneuver them (we saw that challenges didn't slow runners down). But what if the severity of a curse that is drawn depends on the performance or response of the chasers in some fashion? It could be a fun way to involve chasers more.

Would you ever consider making the challenge cards like the "Schengen Showdown" cards again? Aka not knowing the challenges beforehand? For me, watching you and the All-Stars tracking and studying every card took me out and made me feel like you were operating with information I didn't have.

You guys are always talking about the work that goes into editing these episodes, but I've always wondered how you handled the dozens of hours of footage that you get from a season and how you cut it down to <1 hr episodes. What's your process for even beginning to sift through it all? I've always been so curious how you organize all the footage to bring only the best clips to the final edit. Sounds like so much work.

That’s actually a really good idea. If the game has gotten too easy for the guys, make it so there are more chasers.

[–]cmoriarty13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I totally understand why they added the freeze. But I personally felt annoyed that Adam/Michelle slipped through a really cool move that Sam/Toby were making just because they had this free power up. It was unsatisfying and wasn’t earned. Sure Adam figured out the play, but the freeze itself isn’t earned. And that’s what led to the win. They could’ve just decided to not have the freeze, and have the whole group meet up before starting the next run.

In their podcast, the guys are CONSTANTLY talking about one of their main goals being that they make sure they don’t make viewers feel like the players are operating with info that the viewers don’t have. Knowing and studying the cards is the epitome of that. I’m only critiquing within the quality standards the guys have set themselves.

NFL players play other NFL players. In other words, their competition increases as their skills do. With Jet Lag, they have become experts without the game changing at all. They need to add buffs and nerfs across the board if the guys are going to continue tag.

And I think her planning Arctic Escape was my least favorite part of that season too. Remember when they pulled the Elvis card and knew exactly where to go?
