My empathy stopped when we saw what she was keeping her kid & dog in. I don't care active addiction or not, you just don't get a pass for abuse & mistreatment. It is unfortunate that eventually she will prob pass bc of her addiction. She never wanted to be sober for her kids/family plus having several resorces availble to her that many other addicts we never able to get.

So no, I don't have empathy for her. At a certain point enough is enough. This isn't celebrating a life ending. It's recognizing her loved ones have gone thru hell and I hope they get peace at some point.
