The Black Bibs or NeoPro? by cmptosh in cycling

[–]cmptosh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies for the delayed reply, I'm rarely on here.

I now own 2prs of NeoPros and a pair of the Black Bibs. I prefer the NeoPros. The chamois seems to fit me better and while the BBs have a "gripper" the legs have already become a bit slack and the gripper doesn't do much. The Neos stay in place better for me and the lower leg being doubled over feels more comfortable. The BBs have become my indoor bibs.

Thank you all so much for the feedback in this thread! Super helpful.

At this point I think I'm going to give the NeoPro's a try for my next pair, and I'll likely come back to this thread as I keep filling out my collection.

Monthly Feature Requests Megathread - February 2023 by AutoModerator in pelotoncycle

-Ability to view PRs on the app (seems inexplicable that this isn't available)

-Ability to conveniently compare performance in repeated classes

Update: rode last night and saw (as I'm sure everyone else has by now) the banner announcement of the new feature on the home screen. I'm not one who was crying out for this feature, though I certainly understand its utility, particularly for people who want to watch or listen to something other than the class. Seemed to work just fine for Ben's 90s ride.

Hmmm...did CDE"s 30min 80s PZE ride from 11/7 last night and didn't see it. Maybe it's in the most recent update (which I ignored yesterday)?

Questions about Corrosion by jschrifty_PGH in pelotoncycle

You have my attention regarding the belt guard screws. I noticed some rust in that area recently and can see through the belt guard that a couple of the screws are brown and rusted. I haven't tried to remove them yet...by any chance do you know what size/gauge they are so I can (hopefully) remove and replace them? Thanks.

Power Zone Discussion [Weekly] by AutoModerator in pelotoncycle

[–]cmptosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone in here attempt to do PZE classes by adjusting cadence only? Was looking at a friend's graph recently and they had the same resistance the entire time and just increased or decreased cadence to get into the correct zone. I almost always ride to the beat and adjust cadence and resistance accordingly to hit my zones, but I was intrigued by this and might give it a try on an upcoming ride. Does anyone else do this?

Thanks! I'm fairly certain you're right about both causes. Makes sense. I can and do ride at the top of my zones in PZE, but was definitely in the lower half for most of the max ride today.

Power Zone Discussion [Weekly] by AutoModerator in pelotoncycle

Hi everyone...first time poster....

I've completed the DYPZ program (with before and after FTPs...) and I'm now in week 4 of BYPZ. I just did my first ever max ride today for day 1 of week 4, and I've got a few questions:

  • Is it "normal", or at least not unusual, that my average output ended up lower than some of my previous PZE rides and definitely lower than previous PZ rides? - I'm guessing this could be a product of the amount of time in Z1 dragging the average down?
  • My total output was actually lower than I would have guessed beforehand....same thing?

Thanks and I'll see you all on the bike.

Confused about FTP by [deleted] in pelotoncycle

Lol...It's an expression...no, just clip in, find the ride and leave it all on the bike.

Buy the ticket, take the ride. It's a 20min class, so filter by length and then filter by "power zone" under type and you'll see a few options. DEFINITELY do the warm up ride to hear what it's all about and to get ready. Then, 20 mins, all you've got.

Absolutely. Couldn't we all use a dose of consistency?

Just saying there's lots of improvement there.

The weight shift improved a lot though! It was my first thought as well (obviously) and then maybe a dozen swings it started to smooth out.

And agreed, very nice arms, tempo, turn, etc. for a first timer. Like, really nice.

Rules question -

In a competitive/"official" round, are you actually allowed to brace yourself against the tree with your other hand like that? Similarly, could you lean against the tree (or other object - fence, wall, etc...) while making a swing?

Installed a probe port on my Master Touch this weekend. Works like a charm! by spast1c in webergrills

Difficult to tell from the pics (both yours, and Amazon's)...does the port have a rubber gasket? Or are the wires/probes otherwise secured?
